I get why they gave him an extension - for stability. Now that we have the house in order it's time to bring in a new coach.
For years we've had massive problems outside of the piss poor footy team. It's all fixed now. No more leaks to the journos.

No other side would cop this. The bumdogs went hard for Trent, Gus and a bunch of players. We don't need players. We just need a coach who knows how to get the best out of this great group of players.

We most certainly need players . If Wayne Bennett came to Parramatta I'd be as happy as a pig in shit. Could never see it happening though .

Wiz, I would have thought the same thing a few years ago, but the timing wasn't right for us or him. Bennett is too old to be building again from the ground level up imo. Which is why I was surprised to see him linked to at least two of the proposed Brissy teams.
But our current roster and core 1,6,7 & 9 are young and very strong. Add our core forwards and we are a potential premiership winning outfit. Come Bennett come!
reckon only reason they gave him an extension so Moses and Gutho could be signed first and not all 3 needing to be re-signed in the same year. Then decide on what to do with Arthur. Those 3 had parra over a barrel last time their contracts were up.
Coaching team changes will be made next year, new assistant coaches and possibly Arthur being let go.

Pretty sure Bennett wants to go back to qld but I agree let's at least make him an offer and sell him the dream that he would be the coach to bring that elusive title after 35 years (similar to what he did at dragons) to add to his legacy.
