Elgey signs with Manly.

Some people on this site were suggesting we sign Elgey, Never wanted him but I guess that possibility is gone now.

MANLY have seemingly taken revenge on the Gold Coast Titans by snaring the prized signature of boom halfback Kane Elgey on a two-year deal.

According to RLW’s The Mole, the crafty 21-year-old will replace premiership halfback Daly Cherry-Evans who will join the Titans on a mega four-year deal in 2016.

The Titans wanted to keep Elgey and play him alongside Cherry-Evans in the halves after the club had allowed five-eighth Aidan Sezer to join Canberra in 2016.

But Manly’s $600,000 offer over two years trumped that of the Gold Coast and now all eyes will be on the youngster to lead the northern beaches club into a bright new era.

Manly are expected to announce the signing of Elgey as early as Tuesday afternoon. The big news comes off the back of the re-signing of local trio Clint Gutherson and Jake and Tom Trbojevic until the end of 2017.

  • Kid is gonna be very good

was hoping we would get him, and could back end his contract

    • Yes, he definitely has potential.. especially considering they have lost both their halves lol..

  • I heard DCE not going to titans now so if that's true will the titans will be fu#k like us

    • I thought DCE really wanted to play with Myles? But then again Titans dont want Myles, so maybe Myles is gonna head over to manly with Elgey lol...

    • which would mean Ricky does not get Seizer.

  • Welcome back to the Gold Coast.....Chris Sandow?
    • Sandow on the gold coast would be a disaster. not the right playing environment for him

    • Hoping so... Free up some money for an outside back

    • And replace him with who?
    • How will it free up money? He's off contract. The money is already freed up.

"Some players need to get sacked from a club and risk losing it all before they really knuckle down and put in the work.  Why did he get sacked, was it lack of discipline for footy and training or off field issues?"
