Elections draw near

Nope, it's not about the impending state election in late March.

The Parramatta Leagues Club board elections are once again upon us.

Ever since the constitution was ratified and triennial elections were implemented the board has operated smoothly with very little fanfare or negative headlines.

The Leagues Club has gone from strength to strength and with a recent amalgamation is looking to diversify its revenue and go well beyond simply relying on poker machines to turn a profit.

The professionalism at the Leagues Club has allowed Parramatta as a whole to relatively cruise along off the field, especially financially.

But in order to maintain this, club members need to vote in large numbers.

Voting is, again, able to be done online by 5pm February 23rd or in person at the AGM.

All club members should have received an email with the details of the election. Those details are also below.

As per the constitution, only those members who have been financial for at least 3 consecutive years are eligible to vote.

The 65th Annual General Meeting of Parramatta League’s Club Limited will be held on Tuesday 28 February 2023 commencing at 7:00pm at Jacks Bar & Grill, Parramatta Leagues Club, 1 Eels Place, Parramatta NSW 2150 NSW (being the main physical venue of the meeting) and by video link at Viking Sports Club located at Quarry Road, Dundas, NSW 2117.

Michael Ericson replied to The Captain's discussion Why are our Boards fixated on stability?
"Stability at Board level is a good thing but that doesn't have to translate to an unwillingness to implement change in the organisation where needed. If the Board have rejected a Bennett approach to coach Parra in 2025 - and I stress if - that's not…"

"Well put Cappy, you are providing a wake up call, that doesn't mean you have to shoot everyone one on the premises.
It will be interesting to see if the responses you receive have any originality in them or we get the standard "sack everyone"."
