Eels won't make finals here is why.

The Eels wont make the 8 we simply have an average team with some great players but not good enough to make the finals.First of all we have the worst spine in the NRL, the If you cole to think about it we have a 33 year old winger playing fullback, who is way past his prime . We have two 5/8's who are injury prone. We have no halfback and that will cost us big time look at the Bulldogs they were hopeless with Mbye and Reynolds. We also have a hooker in Peats who is a great defender but offers close to nothing in attack and is injury as well. Add in a below average pack with old veterans and young inexperienced, and error riddled players highlights great concern for the Eels. We have some great backs in Semi and Jennings but without a pack and a halfback they will be useless. We will struggle to make the 8 again. Broncos, Storm, Raiders, Dragons, Cowboys, Rabbitohs, Warriors, Sharks, Bulldogs, Roosters and Raiders are better teams then us meaning another gloomy season awaits.

  • Yeah nah!!

  • Which opposition fan site are you really from?
  • 1. Parra would have placed 5th last year if they had a goal kicker. You know that right? They lost 5 games by less than a try after putting more try's on the board than their oppenents in those same games. Lost because they couldn't convert try's. On top of that, the eels had the most horrible injury luck I ever seen!!! And STILL nearly made the 8 with no players and no goal kicker. What makes you think this 2016s team is worse than 2015s?

    2. The Eels have Upgraded in every position they purchased in this year.

    3. Our forward stocks are deep.
Peats isn't a huge loss if he goes down. Degois and Kaiser are more than capable, Wormough is no loss either. Easily replaceable.

    4. Some of the set plays parra performed last year were exeptional, and no body has been able to stop that one unstoppable play to semi which results in try's 100% of the time, I'm sure BA has added more set plays to the team this year now that the plays that worked last year are second nature to the boys, and with more attacking options than before, I'm sure there will be more exceptional set pieces.

    5. The Eels grew a tremendous amount of belief last season, became a truly professional outfit for the first Time in a long time. Went from questioning weather they were even a worthy first grade team to proving to them selves they were well and truly first grade standard.
The eels know how unlucky they were last season with all that happned.

    6. Sandow was an individual instinctive player ruining our structured footy, and we still managed to get some great structure out there in attack, the eels are going to be even better at structure this year because they look up to Foran and listen to everything he will say, Foran will fix the lines each player is running, and the players will be WAY MORE FOCUSED on perfection and professionalism in terms of their positioning and how they conduct set plays. Because they now have a proven champion running their plays book. Last year was a warm up, last year they became professional again, this year the eels are ready to invade the NRL !!!

    7. B.A is top 3 coaches and doesn't get the credit he deserves but will this year.

    8. Even tho I don't think the eels will reach their potential this year, I believe 2017 is our premiership winning season. 2018 latest.
But 2017 is what I'm seeing. This season will be a top 8 finish there is no doubt about that.

    9. We have some of the top players in the NRL combined with a top 3 coach. And we have massive depth in all positions.. That's what championship teams are made out of !!!

    10. As far as Michael Gordan goes... He was the best player the sharks had for the last 2 years and I'm pretty sure he was rewarded as such by his team and club. He played so well at fullback that he kept the young Valentine Holmes out of the fullback spot.
Michael Gordan was red hot last year and he has atleast 1 or 2 good seasons left in him which is all we wanted from him, plus he solves our goal kicking dilemma

We should have made the 8 last year.

We upgraded in every position this year

Can't see how u think we won't make the 8
  • Going support another team like the raiders as put them down twice GO PARRA
  • Whatever.
  • Fyeah man, head back to the hospital unit mate, via you're team website. Troll
  • Benj I enjoyed the read and agree with most of what you posted, I'll give you credit for wasting so much cyber ink on a troll.

  • Gordon a 33 year old winger playing fullback, no halfback , below average pack and one dimensional hooker how is that a top 8 team.

Watch all the 6 agains, missed penalties and dodgy calls we get against us (more than usual). NRL will set an example of us to all clubs not to try and air the dirty laundry.
