Finally won something....
Parramatta have won the 2019 Legends of League title after taking out a thrilling grand final 8-6 over their long-time rivals Canterbury.
For Eels stalwart Nathan Hindmarsh, who famously never tasted premiership success during his storied career of more than 300 games in the Blue & Gold, it was some consolation getting his hands on a premiership trophy.
The likes of Dean Widders, Jeff Robson, Michael Buettner and recently retired prop Tim Mannah suited up for Parramatta.
The Bulldogs, who had won the past two Legends of League tournaments, put up a gallant fight against their traditional foes after securing their berth in the grand final with an 11-4 over the Knights in Newcastle.
The Broncos, Panthers, Knights and a mixed Barbarians team also featured in the tournament.
The Mark Hughes Foundation, which raises money for brain cancer research, has been the event's charity partner since 2018 and will again receive a percentage of the gate earnings.
Hughes told NRL.com he felt compelled to split this year's funds with bushfire appeals amid the devastation that has taken lives and homes.

I wouldn't get too excited just yet. There might be salary cap issues again and they'll take this off us for sure :)
It was a great win that could have ended in a similarly farcical result as the Gallen v Hall debacle.
Parra were disallowed 2 fair tries. 1. Beuttner in the bonus zone when he retrieved a lost ball from Utai. replays showed Beuttner did not touch or rake the ball. 2. Fair try to John Williams in the the corner where he was deemed to have gone into touch? Not so when paused on video replay. But we took solace in the fact that we were still well in the contest and finished over the top of the doogies.
A wonderful precurser for the coming season opener against the same sad doogies at BankWest 2020.
Just watched the highlights. How good was Buetts. And they were 2 tries disallowed
What a surprise, two tries disallowed in a grand final against the Dogs.
News just come in that Parramatta will be stripped off the Legends of Legends sheild for being under the salary cap. Todd Greenturd demands that the sheild is handed over to the Bullfrogs for he was their waterboy and twisted his ankle as he ran over to deliver some water. More to follow...
Could it be that the Eels won because Brad Arthur was not the coach? And how about Buett, as you call him? We have not got a thing from him for his work on the judiciary, So I suppose he felt he owed us sone thing? I have read the warnings that Greenberg will take thewin fromus because of salary cap adventures. I wont sleep until it is resoved in our favour. Well done boys.
Go The Mighty Eels.
I loved watching them play & was over the mmon when they won.
Well done Eels legends, A great way to spend the arvo in off season.
