Eels vs Tigers 3, 2, 1

Important win but I don't know how you can win with so little ball movement. I thought the Tigers were clearly the better in general play. Scoreline flattered us IMO.

    • 4 tries apiece. Tigers should have scored at least 2 more by my count. Though they got lucky with that ridiculous forward pass along the ground. We didn't dominate like the score suggests.

      • 4 tries each the Jennings try was a joke clearly no try plus 3 penalty goals to us. We were the better team

        • Never said we weren't the better team. We took our opportunities and they didn't. Tigers made far more inroads though. They looked the more likely. It didn't feel like a dominant 12 point win.

  • Tigers marched forward in the first half because we were not dominating the ruck.

Tepai turned them around in the tackles and stopped that. He hit hard and ran hard. Wish he would stay if he get that back

  • Eels were more structured, played a percentage game and won well. Tigers had to play catch up for most of the match.

  • Composure, composure, composure and a very simple game plan which included a grinding game. This is what I wanted to see today. Sure, there were moments when our boys were tightening up in attack and defence but they stayed focused on the simple game plan and their steel, steel, steel won through. Now to up the ante next v Manly @ Brooky.

"The sad part is these two are the only half decent players returning... Iongi and Tuivati back round 13. Says a lot about our roster. Seriously in need of a quality 5/8, centres (x2) and a middle. "

"Already have some young players in there. Other than Kelly, Ado-Carr  Paulo, Debelin and Walker, most of the other players are pretty young. Saxon Prike finds himself playing NRL well before he expected to. Throwing them all in together is asking…"
