Eels v Sea Eagles 3 - 2 - 1

What a great display by a depleated Eels side. 34 - 4 with several tries disallowed, we were always in control . Our forwards led from the front and paving the way.

3. Gutherson - The King stepped up with our missing halves, Mr metres was non stop all night, didnt overdo his playmaking and nailed it with 2 try assists, two line break assists, 1 try, 5 goals

2.  Hopgood - Was just so dominate and busy all game 68 minutes. Most metres for a forward, second top game tackler, scored a try, tackles breaks galore with his usual offloads in traffic.

1. Bailey Simonsson - Never give Bailey points before , but wow he ran for most metres 185 odd, was involved  all night in everything,  2 trys, 2 line breaks, 5 tackle breaks. Tried all night.

Special mention to the impact the old boys our 1980 - 1983 side / squad of legends all in attendance and celebrated for their 3 premierships, they  led the team out and no doubt put the pressure on and inspired our under manned Eels to step up to beat the old  enemy.

  • Exactly how to play when down on troops. Simple, powerful and patient. Can't argue with anyone earning points but special mention to Asi. Didn't overplay his hand and steered around the park.

    • agreed showed some maturity to stay calm most of the night.

  • 3. Simmo

    2. Gutho

    1. Ogden

    • Another Youngster stepping up in Ogden

      • I'm a huge fan, I can't see how he can't be in our best 17

  • 3. Gutho

    2. Hopgood

    1. Hands

    • yep Hands was pretty good, much better the Hodgo. He topped the tackle count too with 1 miss i think. Awesome. i think a lot of our boys can share the points tonight, and the fans would still nail their selections

      • Our attack and defence is so much better when Hands starts and plays the full 80.

        • chalk and cheese There are some astounding stats on record that put Hodgo near the bottom 1/4 of dummy halves at the moment. Other stats show the amount we score whilst Hands is on is nearly 3 times the amount of points and in defence we are seriously comprimised when Hodgo gets fatigued. I like Hodgo, I think the major operation and his age is just starting to show in a young mans game.

          • Could always literally see the overall team energy lift when Hands replaced hodgo every week faster passing makes a huge difference as well as faith
