EELS THROW BARRETT LIFELINE

Parramatta coach Brad Arthur has thrown a lifeline to recently departed Canterbury coach Trent Barrett.

In a move that nobody saw coming, Brad reached out to Trent to offer his support on Monday and the Telegraph believe a proposition has been put forward that will see Trent on the eels coaching staff in the coming weeks..

Arthur believes that Barrett would be a great asset to his coaching staff and the club, and may be the 'missing link' the eels have been looking for to break their premiership drought.

Barrett could not be reached for comment, but is believed by insiders to be a certainty to join the eels coaching staff in coming weeks.

  • Well hold on a minute, if true and fair dinkum it is not as crazy as it sounds. Barrett was the best assistant in the game before leaving for both Manly and Canterbury. Barrett coming in for our attack would do wonders.

    • LB this is not good lol, it may be the worst thing ive ever heard.

      SACK EVERYBODY!!!

      • If it ever happened Barrett would be a great assistant. Some coaches are just better being assistants, never discount an assistant due to their head coaching record.

  • Hahaha surely not

    • Being Snake this is a heavy "with a grain of salt" story.

    • FMD Frank, this is dark.

  • Apparently, we need a new ball boy.  Nice piss take Snake!

  • We sign players no other club want now we sign a coach no other club wants
