The Parramatta Eels have hit back at rumours circulating on social media about Dylan Walker, with CEO Jim Sarantinos labelling the claims as “completely false”.
Over the past 24 hours, rumours surfaced - predominantly shared by Eels supporter pages - that alleged Walker had been involved in an off-field incident.
The speculation emerged after the Eels announced Walker had been ‘rested’ for Saturday night’s Round 23 clash against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
In response to the rumours, Sarantinos threw his support behind Walker and his family, condemning the spread of what he labelled as “baseless online speculation
.”
“Everyone needs to understand how reckless and irresponsible this conduct is, and the real impact it has on people. We are not going to stand for it.
“The people spreading this material are not supporters or responsible journalists. Passion for the club and the game is welcome. Defamation, abuse and the deliberate spread of falsehoods are not.
Reiterating the club’s full support for Walker and his family, Sarantinos confirmed that the Eels are exploring legal action against those who created the rumours.
“Dylan and his family have my full support, and the full support of the Club and his teammates. We ask the media and the public to put this matter to rest,” Sarantinos continued.
“The Club will be reviewing its legal options against those responsible for creating and spreading these false rumours.”

I try to be in the middle, as Poppa would say bet each way. I will put the boot into whoever i feel deserves it. I love Ryles and back him to be the coach of the future. Doesn't mean i wont call him out if i feel he has done something poor. That is what i feel some people do here. They have two sides. One player, coach or admin they like it is they cannot do anything wrong. One player, coach or admin they don't like, they cannot do anything right at all. If you praise or criticise against or for either, you are the problem.
We all need middle ground. Doesn't mean that middle ground is always right but i try not to be biased towards individuals and if i get something wrong i will put my hand up.
And as i so let's leave it at that
