Eels target former international dancer

The Eels are set to sign a former international hip hop dancer from the Titans who could prove a major surprise packet in 2017.Rising centre Greg Leleisiuao is close to agreeing with the Eels after playing some great footy for the Titans in the past two seasons in the NYC.The 20-year-old showed his class in last year’s Auckland Nines and has been knocking on the door of first grade selection for the past year.Leleisiuao has quick feet – and not just on the football field. For two straight years as a teenager, he flew to Las Vegas in the USA to compete against the best the world had to offer in the world’s biggest hip hop dancing contest.Leleisiuao was born in New Zealand, has Samoan heritage and played his junior footy for Logan in Queensland.Mark him down as an early dark horse for NRL selection in 2017.It’s been a bad week for the Titans – they have lost two of their best prospects in Leleisiuao and Brian Kelly (Manly) as they balance their salary cap.

  • Thanks Jarryd.

    • And Peats, Hurrell and Proctor.
  • Let us know if we get him

    ILL BE BACK

    • It is now a Done deal we a just waiting for the official announcement .
  • What position does the play ???
    • Fullback,wing,centre
  • Im really liking some of the players we are adding. We already have a real strong core group of players that has the potential to take us top 4 next year.

Signings like Greg Leleisiuao & Niukore really have zero risk and just add depth and competition to FG spots. Players coming here know there is a real opportunity to play some football, but they have to earn it. Its a good culture.

The last couple of years has really tested our depth especially in our backs, but our reserve team is looking solid too.

  • If he gets his head screwed on properly and his attitude right, he could make a fist of things in the NRL one day.

  • A dancer ? It's great to see the NRL welcoming another gay man into the game . Maybe we will land a sponsor from within the LBGTHQXYZ community.
    • Hey we can get Boy George to perform at the half time and everyone get to throw things at him-chairs, other supporters, bombs, you name it. Great entertainment for the kids. Or get IanRoberts out to do some pole dancing in his G strings...that should get Paul's blood roaring...
