The Parramatta Eels’ negotiations with axed Bulldogs star Josh Addo-Carr have cooled over his asking price and the off-field incident he is engulfed in.
The Daily Telegraph’s Dave Riccio reported on Triple M that conversations between Addo-Carr and Eels management have stalled despite meeting with coach Jason Ryles.
“Parramatta coach Jason Ryles has met Josh Addo-Carr, that happened at the back of last weekend,” Riccio said on Triple M.
“It’s been a slow burn (Foxx to the Eels) and as the week has progressed it’s becoming a little bit lukewarm.
“While all roads seem certain for Josh Addo-Carr to end up at Parramatta, there is going to be a serious discussion at the end of this weekend.

“I expect a definitive decision from Parramatta next week. But it is becoming a bit lukewarm."
Riccio believes the Eels could be getting cold feet over Addo-Carr's hefty price tag and the drugs saga he is currently in.
“I think the fact of how much the Eels would have to pay Josh Addo-Carr and given the fact he has come form about $550,000 at the Bulldogs and would probably still be asking for a significant fee," Riccio said.
“And also his off-field incident has Parramatta thinking, do they want to head down this path.
“It is a really big few days coming for Parramatta and Josh Addo-Carr.”
The 29-year-old has scored 140 tries in 179 games for the Tigers, Storm and Bulldogs and has played 15 Origins for the Blues and seven Tests for the Kangaroos.

There is that word again "believes".
Riccio knows fukall and so does everyone else.
know alls about fukalls.
This isn't sounding promising. Hopefully, we can get the Fox over the line in more ways than one.
I would be very conservative with any offer to this player. In fact it would my preference we didn't pursue him at all. I trust Ryles to make the right call on him.
Playing hardball but I can't see him wanting to move overseas and there aren't many teams offering from all reports.
Exactly what they should be doing we need alot of positions filled saving money where they can can help upgrade another spot
Do you not realise Opie Eel that players are not chess pieces, the opportunities to obtain a player like JAC is very limited to a club like Parramatta.
Now all the obvious things need to be addressed and that is why we have people that have expertise doing that, Its not for you to make a judgement on price and value, your opinion can only be related to character. Are you in a position to make such a judgement?
What is JAC worth?
What's 20 Tries 16 Origins and 7 Tests worth......yes he may have lost a yard but he brings a freshness and an intensity to excite and incite his teammates with his unbridled enthusiam.
He can bring to Parra what Luai brought to Penrith...... just an opinion by the way.
Once you have decided you want him I believe he is worth anything up to 450k and if it was me, and the circumstances were prevalent, then I would go more. He would change our game!
Apparently, coke and a sausage rolll!
Nothing wrong with a gourmet sausage roll EE! Lol
