Eels Statement on Foran

The Parramatta Eels are aware of news coverage today relating to the status of five-eighth Kieran Foran's contract with the club.

The Eels have been working with the NRL and Kieran Foran’s management on two clauses within his contract that were previously undisclosed to the Board and senior football management.

The discussions have been productive and it is the club's understanding that issues surrounding these clauses can be resolved.

The club is extremely disappointed that these confidential discussions have been made public

  • Now I wish keiran would come out and put it to bed.
  • Perhaps the telegraph has blown it out of proportion?
  • How can the club not be aware of clauses in the contract?

I would assume that we have a copy of the contract? Do we not read the contracts?

    WTF

  • can someone please sack daniel anderson ?

  • You are bloody kidding me?
I've followed this club for 34 years and they have made many mistakes, particularly the last few years.
If they have stuffed the Foran signing up its goodbye to the eels for me...
    • BWAHAHAHAHA GRUNTA, you promised us with your huge scoop Foran would be an eel, Bwahahahaha

  • I don't blame Sharp and Anderson at all for this debacle especially if the terms are completely unreasonable and will screw our cap over again. It all makes sense now considering what's unfolded in the past 2 months. The CEO reports to the board but it appears a possible explanation Seward may have had kept the exact contract details involving the damages payout clause away from the board until quite recently when he was in talks about a pay rise and a proper review of his work was done and they realised how terrible the contract Seward negotiated was. Hence why he was let go.

That's the problem you risk when a contract negotiator without sufficient law knowledge  is our CEO compounded with the fact we have little leverage and he is then primarily responsible for something this big. The lawyers draft the contract up in accordance to what is negotiated but ultimately the negotiator needs to put us in a good position and if he can't we just give up a ton to get the player...

  • IT'S OVER

WHO DO YOU SING FOR ?
  • I think the smh must need to sell a heap of papers and in a hurry! The media are beating this up deluxe! Even if Foran does back flip, i will still support my beloved Eels. FOREVER!!!
  • Hang on .... Sharp and the board didn't know about the suspect clauses and they were only discovered when Seward left - and it's Sharp and Andersons fault ???????
    No wonder Seward was booted.
Sharp may be a failed plumber but I back him in this 100%
If Foran backs out , throw 500 k to Ashley Taylor and have him and Norman as the halves.
I for one reckon that Foran will stay.
