Photographer – Grant Trouville © NRL Photos.The Dyldam Parramatta Eels have today announced the signing of former South Sydney Rabbitohs back Kirisome Auva'a for the 2017 and 2018 seasons.Auva'a joins the Eels after a breakout rookie/premiership winning year at the South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2014 and having played 39 NRL games and achieving representative honours in 2016 with Samoa.Head Coach Brad Arthur said that the signing of Kirisome Auva'a would bring speed and experience to the Eels backline in 2017.“Somi had a breakthrough year in 2016 with selection in the Samoan team and was a strong performer in the back half of the season,” Arthur said.“The good news for us is that Somi's best years as an NRL player are ahead of him and I believe he can provide a strong contribution to the club in 2017 and beyond."Kirisome Auva'a joins fellow troubled Rabbitoh Nathan Brown as new signings for the Eels in 2017.Arthur went on to say "we see ourselves as a reformist club, where troubled players can become men and resurrect their careers, we'll get Somi bashing the tackling bags in no time".
