          • “It seems quite clear that Blake Green will be the man, another Isaac Moses client,” The Daily Telegraph's Dean Ritchie said on NRL 360 on Tuesday night. The fact that Moses is the manager for both O'Brien and Green seemed to raise the alarm bells for fellow pannelist and Paul Crawley.4 hours ago

So called sports management companies are the ones running the game thats not breaking news - until thats changes the BS is here to stay, they have the power to dismantle clubs and create instability for personal gain.

        • Agree Tank, all roads lead to the Newcastle Knights - we are just joining the dots

          • BA makes obvious sense for Newcastle, but he literally just re-signed a contract extension 2 weeks ago with very strong assurances given to Leads that he'll stick it out next season.

Bad timing, but I think BA had his eyes on the Perth gig and when that fell through he started trying to secure his future for another year.

Also with AOB and BA being close I doubt the Knights would have sounded BA out prior to sacking AOB.

Who knows, contracts mean nothing in sports, but BA will have to seriously burn a bridge if he wants to return to Aus next season.

            • I can't understand why O'Brien would simply resign. It was reported that Newcastle would need to pay out $2M if they sacked him but, yeah, he will resign and take only $400K.

              Doesn't stack up.

            • Nice post.

So its between blake green and BA, its likely he has a clause that he can terminate that contract for another opportunity to coach in the NRL -  Blake Green to succeed will require a really experienced coaching staff around him, the appeal for Newcastle is BA ability to rebuild.

              Interesting times ahead.

              • Blake Green I would not be surprised had the job months ago. Castleford wanted to speak with him, he was keen then quickly said no thanks. Brown also apparently loves Green and he was a factor to going to Newcastle as well as the deal.

Though I also agree that for BA to agree to Leeds deal, they badly wanted him to stay, an NRL clause would be in there.

Newcastle is a good fit, hard working town like BA can infuse that belief. Better than Green who  oversee's of the worst attack in the NRL. Just a dumb hire on face value. They say players love Green, but aren't all assistants liked?

                • Interesting that Brown loves Green. Besides being a colourful sentence, I am wondering what exposure Brown has had to Green for this love to be in place?

                  • Obviously he would have spoken to the staff before signing. Green being the attack coach more likely detailing what he has planned for Brown.

                  • Agree with you've posted, my gut feeling is btw I have no evidence of this discussions have been had between DB and BA, Matt and Jake signing its a reunion and BA will join them soon . I dont think there's any history between blake and Dylan.
