I'd start Moi Moi off the back for the first few games for two reasons. Firstly he is our best forward impact play and you need your bench to be impact players, players that can lift the team instantly. Secondly, Moi Moi is 32 going on 33 years of age and I would prefer Fui to miss the first 20 minutes being the fastest part of the game. Horo also showed last year he is a better bench impact player then starting player. McGuire covers 9,7,6 and it is preferred not to play your hookers for 80 minutes. Shacks and Allgood are on par, but I think Shacks showed late in the seasson they may appears to be getting strength and speed back in his injured leg. Shacks appeared a lot more mobile in his last two or three games. With a full off season Shacks could be as good as Timmy Mannah or dare I say it the Fui.
Have to disagree about Shackleton. Good character, nice to have him around the team, but I can't look past Allgood. His strength and stature will also offer something a bit different; Shackleton, Moi Moi, Mannah and Poore are all very similar.
I'd expect Poore to be the one in the position of being 'dropped', with Johnny Mannah challenging for his position if he doesn't make an impact.
"Blore is average. We are top heavy for forwards, very light on in the backs, now you want to get rid of two backs for an average forward. I'm glad Mon is part of the recruitment team, and not you."
