Parramatta have six players from their top list still off-contract for next season, with only one likely to be retained.
That man is Frank Pritchard.
Turning 34 on Friday, the Eels will wait and see how the backrower’s body pulls up after his duties with Samoa in the World Cup wrap up before offering him a 12-month extension.
Reserve grade players John Folau, Cody Nelson, Scott Schulte, Honeti Tuha and Matthew Woods have all been cut.
These men will be replaced by Holden Cup players ready to make the jump to the full-time squad.

Two names I'd like to see would be Ray Stone and Greg Leleisiuao.
Don't forget that name
Nobody is surprised. He is Super league standard. He isn't as good as his brother and we have a couple of good players coming through from Under 20s
dont be surpised parra has gave john chance after chance in the top 26, hes wasted cap in my view.
he has injuried for sure , rumours are he in or going to'' hull'' in the super league , where he should shine.
parra and john was better to part company no doubt.
john needed a change in life , as the old saying is a change is as good as a holiday.
there is loads of talent on the open market cheap right now to fill two wenty teams and most of the under 20's who blew the grandfinal , weeks back, good luck john ...
Yep Stone certainly looks the goods. Probably a replacement for Edwards or Mau eventually. Not sure about Leleisiuao - he may be a good backup in NRL. It would be interesting to see who the other three players from Holden Cup are, but I take it they will stay in the lower grades for a couple more years.
I agree with that Fin; i am not sure about Leleisiuao as he is strong as, but his height as a winger could be an issue and his defence needs time to develop
