The NRL has today announced a reduced fine for the Parramatta Eels for a breach notice issued in May of this year. The fine of $465,000 marks a $60,000 reduction of the original $525,000 amount. See below for the full NRL statement:
The NRL said today it has considered Parramatta’s response to a salary cap breach notice issued last month and will proceed with a fine of $465,000.
The figure was reduced by $60,000 after the club clarified aspects of its NRL second tier player payments.
Other aspects of the initial breach penalty, including the possible deduction of competition points in the 2016 season, remain unchanged. The NRL will now work with the club on an independent review of its governance and organisational capability.
The NRL also advised today that it had reduced the penalty imposed on the Roosters for salary cap breaches last year from $41,292 to $25,000 after the club clarified the nature of education allowances made to the club’s NYC Top 20.

Some more good news! It's not a huge reduction, though it's still $60k.
The fine doesn't worry me that much. The possibility of starting on -4 points does.
Yeah... just ask Hindmarsh and Sandow
Im with blue and gold starting next year -4 not good
There is no excuse if we start next season on -4 points, we need to do an independent review after the Foran debacle there is no excuses not too.
It's not like we have to find an extra 400k.
Hahaha! It is a surprisingly good week for the Eels!
We win three in a row, confirm Foran signing and have our fine reduced!
Does this mean Peats get his car back?
$60,000 off the fine for what reason i guess working with the nrl with the foren contract and our ex ceo going.
