I was just checking the Top 8 odds betting sites are offering.
Most have us running 12th with the Tigers, Dogs, Titans and Manly beneath us. Some have a bit higher but 11th is the best position predicted.
I'm quite suprised we're predicted so high for this squad of nobobies. Not one player being a strong personality or match winner.
Anyone think we have a hop in hell for the 8? :)

Parra fan, the odds may start as what bookies think value is or where they think money will be placed, but after people lay money it changes the odds quite significantly. I think predictions will change before season starts with various signings to still occur, along with the usual rush of preseason injuries.
For those so certain parra won't make the 8 take the short odds (some agencies have miss the 8 markets) and run it into a multi to add some value or back them to win the spoon.
Im predicting a top 8 finish in 2019
The Roar has us running dead last. I think we will come last and just above us you will probably find Manly and maybe Canberra above us.
The only big mover this year in the league will be Newcastle, the table will mainly stay the same as last year. Easts, Brisbane, Melbourne are all shoe ins to make the finals. Wests will probably come 9th again as usual.
Cronulla are in for a hard year, they lost their coach and best player, plus the millions in sponsorship thanks to Dugan and Fifita, and they have a coach who is untested at this level.
Yeh, I think I will give these guys opinion a big pass. They were the same guys that had us and the cowgirls as favourites last year. Going on recent form and statistics I say they have no bloody idea!!
I think most sites had NQ and Parramatta in the top 4 if not going for the title, hardly anyone had Souths finishing in the top 8 let alone making the preliminary final. It was just one of those things.

Big ask to make the 8, TAB dont even have Newcastle in the 8 and Id say they’ve recruited excellently. There’s one thing thats a certainty though, there will be a couple of teams that massively defy expectations and another couple that are expected to do well but flop. Happens every year.. here’s hoping we’bounce back to 2017 form.
My biggest concern is our halves and Salmon in the centers. If they play awesome we’re in with a shot at the 8, but Icant see it happening personally
