Eels Path to the Finals - 2016 - Eels Blogs

All day, we've been hit by news that Parramatta need to win 12 of their last 15 games in order to play finals football in 2016. It's a tough ask for any team, but like a lot of Parramatta supporters, I believe we can do it.

These are our fixtures:

Round 10: Eels vs Rabbitohs (Pirtek Stadium)
** Rabbits will be without Sam Burgess and we'll be missing Kieran Foran.

Round 11: Eels vs Storm (Pirtek Stadium)

Round 12: Knights vs Eels (Hunter Stadium)
** No Origin players. Eels will lose Jennings & B Scott. Knights could lose Gagai & Hodkinson.

Round 14: Eels vs Titans (TIO Stadium)

Round 15: Rabbitohs vs Eels (ANZ Stadium)
** No Origin players. Eels will lose Jennings & B Scott. Rabbits will be missing Greg Inglis and potentially Adam Reynolds.

Round 17: Sharks vs Eels (Cronulla)

Round 18: Eels vs Roosters (Pirtek Stadium)
** No Origin players. Eels will lose Jennings & B Scott. Roosters will lose Ferguson, Cordner & potentially Pearce.

Round 19: Panthers vs Eels (Pepper Stadium)

Round 20: Titans vs Eels (Cbus Super Stadium)

Round 21: Eels vs Tigers (ANZ Stadium)

Round 22: Eels vs Sea Eagles (Pirtek Stadium)

Round 23: Broncos vs Eels (Suncorp Stadium)

Round 24: Raiders vs Eels (GIO Stadium)

Round 25: Eels vs Dragons (Pirtek Stadium)

Round 26: Warriors vs Eels (Mt Smart Stadium)

Teams we play twice:
- Gold Coast Titans.
- South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Teams we play once:
- Melbourne Storm.
- Newcastle Knights.
- Cronulla Sharks.
- Sydney Roosters.
- Penrith Panthers.
- Wests Tigers.
- Brisbane Broncos.
- Canberra Raiders.
- St George Illawarra Dragons.
- Warriors.
- Manly Sea Eagles.

Teams we don't play:
- North Queensland Cowboys.
- Canterbury Bulldogs.

We can cop 3 losses in amongst these games. I know we don't want to rush Kieran Foran, but the sooner he returns to our team, the better. We really can't afford to drop any of those 50/50 games.

We are done and dusted for this year, not to mention atm we are playing for no points till the caps in order, we might run it close but its way to much to overcome taking Foz's situation into hand as well, we are cooked this year.

  We won't make a finals birth, i would love to be wrong but i don't see us winning anything of any sort. But that is fine, i put it down to poor management and not the boy, however we should try to minimise the risk of long term injurys (ACLs and such) and focus on building for next season.

We could make it if we only win 11. 28 points is the standard most years, but this year is an exception, seeing as we have been taken out of the 8. 9th place finished with 26 points 3 of the last 5 years.

here I was thinking that this would finally be a season where we weren't breaking out the calculators to check if we still have a chance at top 8. I am feeling depressed.
