We played the 2001 GF (which I'm still hoping is a very bad dream) and have won consecutive wooden spoons in the last few years. My question is which group of supporters do you think have had to endure more pain in the past few years? Apart from the wooden spoons we have also had the Jarryd Hayne drama, Ricky Stuart walking out, salary cap and Corey Norman dramas. But the knights have also had Wayne Bennett walking out, the Nathan Tinkler failed privatisation, Alex McKinnon tragedy and now Jarrod Mullen. For me I think the Knights issues have been worst but the media have a tendency to sensationalise the Eels dramas.

  • At least the knight won a couple of comps in the last 20 years. Also the knights dramas have largely been off the field, sure they have stunk it up for the last couple years but before then they have always been competitive at least.

On balance the eels are worse because we have had to endure years of shite performances on  the field, no premierships,   on top of all the off field dramas of which you are forgetting quite a few, for example the extensive board room dramas Kieran Foran, Chris Sandow and Semi Radradra. There is so much going on with the eels its hard to keep up.

    • Agreed at least we have something to look forward to, tough times ahead for poor knights fans.

    • Yes I agree over the last 20 or 30 years. I guess my question was more over the last 5 or 6 years. The good thing is I think we are much closer to success than the Knights. They are probably a few years behind us in the rebuilding phase.
    • They are at least 3 or 4 years behind where we are now. Couldn't happen to a better team on 2nd thought there are a few more teams I would like to see it happen to
  • not sure, but to go through what the club has and still be regarded as one of the best financially supported clubs in the comp is a platform that should never be taken for granted. newcastle can only wish for such a foundation

  • Us time 2. Knights have only really had 2 years of battler life, more is around the corner for them but
  • We have, but Brad has single handily turned this club into genuine top 8 certainties, whilst the Knights are a fair dinkum disgrace right now.
  • We have. Purely on the fact that their supporters have had 2 premiership wins to savour in the past 30 years
  • Us because most people have a soft spot for the knights but people either like us or hate us witch is why we cope it from all angles when shit hits the fan.
