Eels Offer New Deal to Anderson

PARRAMATTA are moving to keep coach Daniel Anderson at the club until the end of 2013.Eels chief executive Paul Osborne would not reveal the length of any new deal for Anderson, but it is likely to be two more seasons.Osborne said his club was looking to retain the Grand Final coach to ensure long-term stability."I will talk to the board about it," Osborne told The Daily Telegraph last night."We will get Jarryd (Hayne) officially signed and then look to lock down the coach for a bit longer."We want to get some stability around the place."Daniel did an absolutely outstanding job this season. He turned the place around."The players have a great relationship with him, as do I."It is important moving forward that we get stability with our players and coaches."Yesterday, Anderson was unconcerned about contract negotiations as he recharges after his first season at the helm."I'm on holidays. I'm having a rest," Anderson said.Despite speculation about his future, winger Luke Burt seems certain to remain at Parramatta next season. However, the future of fellow winger Eric Grothe at the club remains uncertain.Grothe, a powerful performer in this year's Grand Final against Melbourne, has been linked with a move to Japanese rugby union.Hayne will sign a lucrative four-year deal this week.http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/eels-offer-new-deal-to-anderson/story-e6frexnr-1225785549561

  • Lock him in, Ozzy!
  • Great move. Get him on a long term before the evil dollar lures him elsewhere.
  • Yep, cant agree more! The extension of his contract will certainly help to strengthen recruitment and retention next season!
  • sign him for life brother
  • Two more seasons is par for the round, anything more would be a bonus these days ......the thing with Daniel he already served the club in the lower grades with success before taking up the Auckland post...end of 2013 would let you a decent platform for a sucessful club...three year deal please !!!!
  • Awesome news also about Burty
  • Good stuff!
  • yeh cool we dont want smith back !!!!!!!!!!! i like andersons approach and manner , its a leading example to the club
  • Yep!! Ando's the man, 3 years is perfect and stability with key personnel (other than the likes of caylo and hindy) is what we've lacked for far too long.....Ozzie and Ando...has the potential to become a great combo .....I can already sense exciting times ahead.....the kick off to the 2010 season couldn't come fast enough....
