What would he know about the Eels or NRL for that matter he is a Rugby tragic. Have you ever read one of his books they are as boring to read as he is to listen to talk. They just go on and on with waffle.
I have stopped reading articles about the Eels. As soon as I see a journalist who is willing to do a bit of research into the NRL and the salary cap and the TPA's and expose it as the broken system that it is I will go back to reading Eels articles in the media. at the moment journo's are relying on leaks from the NRL and player managers.
Right now the system is not working, not evening talent as the NRL claim or making the competition fairer. The system is currently error provocative and ensures not only the Eels but most other clubs are cheating the system.
Not only does it not even the talent it allows player managers to exploit the rules and the NRL has no way of auditing clubs properly unless there are whistleblowers. Even then they will not act unless they are forced into it by the media. everyone knows what is going on it is the elephant in the room.
Kate McClymont has tried with her story on NRL bagmen but there was no follow up. She needs whistleblowers too and only Parra has scores of whistleblowers just dying to dish the dirt and destroy whoever is running the joint.
The NRL could absolutely fix the salary cap if they wanted to. It's actually rather simple. But they just don't seem interested.
It is absolutely the elephant in the room.
Agree John Eel. Maybe the delay in the final announcement by the NRL is indicative of something happening behind the scenes. Don't forget we also have the right of appeal against the final decision when it comes which will not be heard by Greenberg. I suspect things are getting interesting. The biased one sided media reporting, the leaks from the NRL, every television talk RL host, may yet end up as a large "attempting to pervert the course of justice" case
Yeah & RLW come out this morning asking how the hell can Parra sign Robson for the rest of the year when they had to ditch players to get under the cap. - Well if they even did some research at all, & this from the editor of that fine magazine!!, would have realised that Junior was let go early, after we were cap compliant, thus freeing up whatever money he was on. D..head journos everywhere now all jumping on the bash Parra bandwagon.
