Eels marketing and merchandise?

Questions for you die hard fans. What do you think about the way the Eels market themselves? Are we a backwards thinking club with no foresight for the newer generation? Are we fans getting the best we can from our club? - social media etc.Does our merchandise work? Does it stack up against other major sporting club's around the world? Are you proud to wear it?

  • No. Can start by changing to Adidas or Nike.

  • Our merchandise could be heaps better than it is. Supporter clothing options are very limited.

  • Merchandise is average. I still can't bare to wear my Hindy commeroative, fluoro yellow jersey in public. Horrible stuff.
The social media and newer generation thing is going gang busters.
I for one rely on a daily fix of the boys running up dunes, grabbing each other in the gym cheering for each other and water skiing etc.
We haven't had so much coverage of every move the players make ever, and I for one am very impressed.
    • Did you buy your Eels branded training bra?
  • Yeah, content on the official site has really picked up in recent months. The quality is excellent and there's plenty of it.
  • The club should cater more to the many generations that support the mighty Eels.

Everything from walking sticks and walking frames with Eels logos on them to branded "adult" products (you know what i'm talking about - maybe even some "limited addition" gear), all the way down to little golden books with stories such as "Timmy Goes To The Market" or "Manu's Birthday Surprise"

  • Should sack the dopes who think our colours are blue and yellow, I think it started getting yellower by the year when pirtek signed on. I wonder why, what are pirteks colours by the way?
There is no fucken way I'm buying another jersey or any other merchandise until they go back to our proper colours.
    Blue & GOLD 4 Life!
    • Don't forget the white!
  • I'm a graphic designer by trade and cringe at most of the merch. I think that while ever they are using xblades it will be horrible. I look forward to seeing hem bringing out the new training gear every year, only to be dissapointed. It's horrible again next year, I don't understand. Even the colours of the Jersey seem to be "off". I understand they are using the 80's jerseys as the core design but why are the colours so wrong? The actual shape and style of the jerseys from isc next year look great. I wish we stayed with them. As for fan gear, we should take a page out of south's book. If you check out their stuff they have great caps, hoodies, shirts etc and they do it all without changing the core design of their Jersey. I hope we ditch xblades soon, then I might actually purchase some new gear.
