PARRAMATTA'S ordinary start to the season has not diminished the club's bargaining power with sponsors, with the Eels last week wrapping up their shorts sponsorship for a cool $450,000 a season.
The Eels will later this week announce two-year deals (with two-year options) for Modern Solar and a major liquor outlet to appear on the front and back of the shorts.
Combined with jersey sponsors Pirtek and Painaway, the Eels' kit is now worth nearly $2 million - about double what the same property was generating 12 months ago.
The swollen revenue will see Parramatta Leagues Club slash its football grant from $4 million to $1.9 million next season in a bid to get the licensed venue back on track following the record $9 million loss in 2008.
