Eels Grassroots Blog

One of the areas of our club I'm very passionate about is our local junior clubs and I thought I'd start a blog to share some of the work the club does at a grassroots level and also the fantastic work of the volunteers that make all of our junior footy so successful. So if you ever want to make a shout out at a junior level to someone for their good work or you just want to have a boast about your kid doing something awesome, this is the blog to do it!

  • So today spent a couple of hours down at the Old Salesyard training facility where the Eels held a school holiday clinic for their junior members. Junior, Luke Kelly and Daniel Alvaro were there helping out and so too were the Academy boys.

Well done to the club, it was really well run and both my young blokes really enjoyed it!

  • Seeing its the off season anybody got any grass/root related pictures to add to this blog?

  • Bloody hell, 5 replies and already a Top blog....

What's going on? Is it his birthday?
  • Well I guess this is the perfect blog to gloat then. A big congratulations to the CVD Cobras A-Grade Division 2 side. An up and down year ended with us taking out a tense grand final 10-8 against Canley Heights Dragons.
  • They actually had seniors this year?
    • Yeh. Began as a 7 team comp with us, Hills, Wenty, Junior Eels, Toonie, United and Dragons. Split into a Top 3 Div 1 and Bottom 4 Div 2 comp about half way through the season.

    • How did the split go?
