Eels Grand Final Teamsheet

1Eyed Eel looks at each of the mighty Eels in this special Grand Final edition teamsheet 1. Jarryd Hayne The best player in the world lines up at fullback for the Eels. The Storm doesn't know where he's going to pop up on Sunday, hell, neither do we. Will show Billy Slater who is really the world's best number one. 2. Luke Burt There isn't a winger going better than Luke Burt in the competition. You can write him in now for two or three line-breaks and a couple of tries. One of our greatest ever clubman and will finally get that well-deserved premiership after kicking 100 per cent on Sunday 3. Krisnan Inu The Bulldogs had no idea which way he was going on Sunday and neither will Will Chamberlain. Is doing the hard stuff making tough metres as well as the pretty stuff. A grand final ring will complete a triumphant comeback after the disappointment of being dropped to NSW Cup 4. Joel Reddy He owned Greg Inglis last time these two teams played and he'll do it again. Will be up in Inglis' face all game and won't give him any room to move. 'The technician' always gives 100 per cent and an Australian tour position is not out of the question 5. Eric Grothe I rate what Eric Grothe brings to Parramatta as being more valuable than the contribution any winger in the NRL makes. Time and again, he makes a momentum turning charge or offload and he's now got a good defensive combination going with Joel Reddy as well. 6. Daniel Mortimer How tough is Daniel Mortimer. No doubt, the Storm will have a plan to run at our little dynamo but nobody yet has really managed to put a dent in his armour. Is developing into a complete footballer and will cap off a remarkable debut season with a premiership 7. Jeff Robson If ever there was a champion of the underdog its Jeff Robson. Came into the side, rated by nobody, initially panned by all-and-sundry but then gradually found his place in the side and has won over all Eels fans with his rock-like defence and his steady play. 8. Nathan Cayless Our captain courageous. Will need to undergone a last-minute fitness test to get on the field but is tougher than teak and if anyone can get back on the field its Cayless. A premiership will cement Cayless' standing as one of the greatest Parramatta leaders of all time. 9. Matt Keating Dummied his way past a suspension and I'm tipping him to have a monster game against the Storm. He does brilliantly week-in, week-out at rolling the Eels forward and with the Storm no doubt looking to monster the Parra pack I can Keating getting good opportunity to run and make his mark on the game. Last grand final he played, he was superb, incidentally. 10. Fuifui Moimoi What more can be said about our very own human wrecking ball. Yes, you can put a few big hits on him early in the game but Fuifui just keeps getting back up and comes at you again. Aside from Jarryd Hayne is the man most responsible for us being in this position. His battle with Brett White is going to be a corker. 11. Nathan Hindmarsh There's a reason sides have scored only a couple of tries down the middle of our ruck over the course of the last three months and the name of that reason is Nathan Hindmarsh. Will be remembered as one of the greatest Eels of all time and nobody deserves a premiership more. The legend is set to become a premiership-winning legend. 12. Ben Smith Ben Smith's defence in recent weeks has been absolutely phenomenal. He's able to use his size to monster opposition defenders running on the fringes and all-but stop the play dead. And his own hit-ups have been willing and valuable as well. Second row was always going to be the position that would suit him best and he has rep honours ahead of him if he's knees hold up. 13. Todd Lowrie Another Eel who was much-maligned earlier in the season but who now has cult-hero status and the following of the Todd squad. Runs hards, hits hards and forms a second-row combination with Hindy and Smith that is near impenetrable. 14. Kevin Kingston As if Parra fans didn't love 'Kinga' already, his declaration today that he'd sacrifice his match payments to go around in the Blue and Gold next year has taken the love to new levels. His rotation with Keating has worked a treat all-year and he always has the opposition looking out for his penetrating runs from dummy half. 15. Feleti Mateo The beauty of this side is if you put too much attention on Jarryd Hayne then someone like Feleti Mateo will carve you up. Has freakish abilities and coming from the bench he adds a new dimension to the Eels side when the gets on the park. 16. Joe Galuvao You can't replace experience and Joey G's experience has been instrumental in Parramatta's march towards the grand final. Makes an immediate impact when he comes onto the field, there's no working into the match for Galuvao. Produced one of his finest performances for the Eels last week, when he ensured that we barely missed Cayless despite losing our captain and starting prop in the first 10 minutes. 17. Tim Mannah Always provides exceptional go-forward and ensure we don't lose too much when Fuifui Moimoi comes off the field. I would say he's a top-line prop in the making, but that would be understating when he is today. He's already a top-line prop.

  • hehe, finally a team sheet that interests me. best.. teamsheet.. ever
  • Great summary without a hint of bias.

I reckon play Caylo even if his hammy is still crook. He can sit on the sidelines in a wheelchair, hop on the field with a few minutes to go and help Parra crack the 50 by scoring our final try.
    • haha
    • You ever gonna change your name? Unless you also have Finch in your name, you should change it
      • I thought about it Stewie, but it just wouldn't be the same. But at least I didn't name myself after a Manly bugger ;)
  • Will Chamberlain.... classic 1Eyed haha
  • My mouth is watering for the game already after reading teamsheet!! BRING THIS ON!!

  • AWESOME.....BUT

  • If (or should I say, when!) we win the GF, Hayne, Hindmarsh, Reddy, Grothe and Mannah will make the Australian Squad. Luke Burt may even be a smokey too.
