Eels fan day

Just came back from the 'fan day' which was really just a 3 and a half hour wait to get something signed. I didn't even see Danny Green or hear the announcement from Osbourne because the line for autographs was from the Town Hall down to Westfields and beyond.

I can guarantee you that if the Eels got the wooden spoon last season, there would NOT be an 8 kilometre line for player's autographs. If everyone who came today was a club member, Parra would be the richest club in the league.

Anyway that's my rant. Who else went? What did you guys think of it?

  • Was a waste of time really. Was way too packed and the speaking could barely be heard. It shouldve been next to Parra Stadium at the pool car park or on the warm up field. Then it wouldve been the die hards not people walking past having a sticky beak. Last few fan days have been good but this one was poorly done. I think I will get my stuff signed throughout the year. The line up was massive and was hot too.
  • It started pouring down heavily towards the end of it too.
    • Damn organisers!
  • The move to Town Hall meant more people, but it also made the line a lot harder to patrol so people pushed in. I also couldn't really hear the announcement because the acoustics weren't that great.

However, after waiting in line from 12.00 to 2.30, I did get my top signed and the boys were lovely. Eric and Benny were especially chatty as was Timana Tahu. :-)

The biggest disappointment however... they got a representative from League Unlimited on stage - where were you Phil? Why was this site not asked to be represented!!! ;-)
  • By the time they got to my end of the line, Fui and Tahu weren't even there... they had just took off...
    • Ben Smith looked well, think he'll be fit for opener/Also Daniel Anderson said he wasnt concerned about trials and got the impression he gave the boys instructions not to try too hard as didnt want any injuries nor give away anything about playing style and was very happy the way the trials went. The big announcement was Pirtech sponsors for another 3 years with a 3 year option.
  • So what
    " was the big announcement ? ".......
  • Pirtek signed for another 3 yrs with a 3 yr option after that
    • Now who predicted that again?
      • I did write, as predicted by you Phil when I posted the announcement!! :-)
