Eels facing million-dollar fight to retain star half

Honestly nothing to fear here, Rothfield practically said Moses is meeting with Parramatta this week to see if they can increase their offer slightly, Canterbury have offered $1.2mil, despite throwning coin at Crichton but ok, Wests have offered $1.3-1.4mil, where we are slightly over $1mil. Surely if we go to $1.2mil he will put pen to paper.

But the media are hoping, he said he wants Parramatta to increase slightly but no "I think they will get there", no just if he is going it'll be to Canterbury etc. The media are hoping; you know how like Nine News has video reels ready for when famous people die, so they had one for the Queen ready to go years before she died, they have one for John Laws, Elton John, Paul McCartney etc.

I believe the media have articles of us falling apart and we are no hope and we are this and that if Moses signs elsewhere, it is all written and ready to go, just need to hit publish once he signs, they are hoping and praying. Just sign the deal or go elsewhere and stop the discussion i am just over it Moses.

And for those who will say "Why post this" etc as they are over it, well i post news that pops up about Parramatta where i can.

  • The dollars that I reported near two weeks ago from someone very close. This is still very very tight. We have increased our offer to 1.1 with some bonuses built in, but still not sure if its enough. Moses camp wants $ 1.2m from the Eels and deal will be done. Tigers extra TPA's that they were trying for havnt eventuated.

We are still waiting on the tigers to take Nathan Brown before we can increase anything else by way of some front loading payments.

    • Said since 6 months ago it would take $1.2m to sign Mitch. Nothing has appeared to change.

      • His not worth that

        • I actually think in todays market he is, to be honest.

    • Here is the thing, Mitch at the dogs and they become a massive premiership chance, he's that important to them - we can't afford to let him go, end of story.

  • We will no doubt throw in a player option every 6 months on top of 1.3 million a season and all of a sudden Mitch is thrown a parade for being so loyal and our retention guys are given a job for life.

  • To paraphrase Buzz - Crichton will play for a pie and coke to stay at Penrith but Moses wants to screw the club for all it's got to get $5 more per week.

    • Ah well! Gutho set the precedent here. If it's good for the captain to use the media in order to get the extra $5 per week then it's good for Moses

    • I think it is a long way north of $5 a week. I reckon It is around $1mil based on previous media reports over a long term deal.

      Question, who will replace him?

      • Probably but I just tried to give others the gist of Buzz's comments on the BSB this morning.

Plus I don't actually think Crichton will play for a pie & coke.
