Eels culture?

Did parra just just get lucky last year with a top 4 finish. Its been a long time since the eels were consistantly good. Yes i remember those days. Paulo might add some size back in our pack but player egos and monkeys in the boardroom keep bringing this club undone.

  • We are just cursed
    • Nothing to do with a curse. Members voted 3P in, thinking the grass would be greener on the other side. I'm not advocating for a Fitzy return, too late for that now, but no one could disagree that things were running a whole lot better when he was in office before Roy and his mates came in and turned the place on its head
  •  Besides belting the broncs, we never really put any team to the sword last year.

we won alot of scrappy games.

For example, the close games we lost this year against penrith, dogs, we were winning last year. Not convinclingly but still winning.

this year those games are not going our way

  • I do think that last year our line speed and agression was much better. Forwards made metres and norman and moses had room to move.
    • Agree with you there phoenix86.
Winning teams from this year (like the Tigers) are basically doing what we did last year. Especially with their fast moving "in-you-face" tactics in defense.
But we were also more steely in defense last year too. If we made an error or gave away a penalty, we defended like our lives depended on it. This year, our errors and penalties are like a secret signal between our players. It's like they're saying "okay, remember what we said at training boys, when one of us gets penalised THAT'S WHEN WE HAVE TO LET OUR OPPONENT SCORE 6 POINTS FROM IT".

This year, we've gone back to what we did for many years before last year. And that is > we are the ones who manufacturer the repeat sets (through our errors & penalties) for our opponents to kill us with. Our opponents just hang in there waiting for us to manufacturer every point scoring opportunity fo them. This year, playing against Parramatta is better than having a bye because we improve their for & against ;)

    • As a long time parra supporter im sick of the same excuses BA uses as well as players post match " we have have to try harder"
Changing coach may just be another stab in the dark as even a craig bellamy protege cant fix the stench left over from systemic arrogance.
Politics is in everything especially in the coporate world which governs this game.
  • Semi got us to the top four. This squad without semi is nothing
    • We certainly miss him, he was definately a weapon.
    • Cause Coryn, just happen to be Semis year last year
  • Geez great blog, the year from Hell now fans are calling some of our players monkeys, deffenetly poor form.
