Eels circling Panther on the outer

Just seen an article about Parramatta & the Dragons circling the James Segeyaro situation at Penrith (apparently he's on the outer at Penrith). I think signing Segeyaro would be great. If we could do it, I'd resign Peats to play 13/14 & Norman with watmough's money. (Signing Seg would greatly increase our chances of resigning Norman as they are extremely close mates.. I think they may even live together??). I think Segeyaro would give us great attacking flare which I think would work really well with Foran & Norman who are both great attacking halves.. He would work exceptionally well with Norman as they are close mates & have been since they were young so they would have a lot of chemistry. Would love to also keep peats as a defensive lock or a nice utility off the bench..I understand Segeyaro is injury prone but might decrease his value a little also. I think it would be worth the gamble.Thoughts?

  • We have 4 hookers, why put more money into that position? Even if we lose one, we don't need to put a decent sum of money towards Chicko. King & Pritchard are good options on low money
    • This is interesting as Peats is also off contract at the end of the year
  • Yeah but none of them can offer the attacking flair that I think would greatly benefit us..
Peats pretty much just tackles his heart out, which he can do in 13. He was very good in 13 for Rabbitohs when he did play it if anyone followed him before he came over to parra. When Degois comes on he usually plays lock/2nd row anyway.

We have 4 at the moment, Degois will probably retire id say.
If we get chicko I'd keep him Peats & Kaysa..
  • Nah id keep peats, that is unless segeyaro signed for substantially less. Its a business afterall. But i would imagine they would command around the same pay.
  • No thanks. Next.........

  • But how can we sign anyone? We are cheating the cap worse then it's ever been cheated before........
    • fuck off you troll

  • It is (usually) cheaper to re-sign a player than buy one from another club. If IDG retires, we still have 3 hookers, and King would be enticed to stay by the fact he would be playing FG if ever either Peats or Pritchard was unavailable (if we maintain a 2 hooker system). We simply can't afford Foran & Norman chewing up $2 million of cap space and adding a highly priced hooker in Segeyaro when we currently have players there who can do a good job for us.

  • I've said a million times Segyaro is the perfect fit for us.Make it happen.
  • PM where did you get that information from. Seriously ridiculous statement.
