CE, you realise we have a good back up for DB who if he does go it will be next year.
Volkman is an outstanding young player, I could not imagine us picking up someone at his level that is better or has more progression at this point. Further to that the strategic back up's all offer flexibility in the sense of 5/8. i.e. Joash Pappillii.
The hooker become's a different proposition but we have some confidence in Hands going to another level and Rylley Smith emerging.....
I really want us to not jump into forwards yet. I'd want to release 2-3 more of our forwards. I wanna see who steps up, and in which position in the forwards.
Pass! I prefer to develop our juniors. Tuivita apparently had a good running battle with junior. Hazelton is a bench forward at this stage of his career. Not worth the money.
Only issue with prioritising juniors is no guarantee they're up to the standard. How many times has there been a talent that everyone says is the real deal, come NRL they are average at best. Hazelton has shown he is NRL quality. Ofa is off-contract this year, Paulo and Matto next year. Willams and Moretti signed til 2027 but we need more and better middles. Tuivaiti could be good pairing with Ryda Talagi in 2027-2028, but we need experienced younger talent.
Depends what Ryles wants out of his middles to me Hazelton is another big guy who lacks lateral agility.
Its a hard one this but if I'm a head coach now I'm looking for athletic middles. It's the big reason why Junior and William look so trim this off season to get the more mobility back in the middle. We can't carry to many big guys anymore the games just moving away from those types and if guys like Junior and others can't match that part of the game around agility and mobility in the middle they'll be history too.
I agree with you Coryn, right down to the athletic aspects of our middles.
I would be surprised if Ryles would be interested in Hazelwood, especially when he is probably on about 300 a season, which is his right sort of price.
"WOW! That is remarkable thinking Daz but a spreadsheet is a simple equation and if it is not solvable the answer will NOT be there.

"The interesting thing abnout Wiz's examples, of how he uses and won't use ChatGPT, is that Wiz is basically talking about what used to be called "repairing indexicality". The idea here is that our language and thought is full of referents that are…"

I would like him at the eels but for less than $500k
Need a decent hooker and 5/8 in case Brown goes elsewhere.

No better than what we currently have and demanding ridiculous money.
$400-$450k tops.
