I need a certain beer that I will drink most of the time. Now when on tap I always drink VB, but I'm talking about bottled beer. Recently I have tried the following
Coopers - Not bad
Dry Dock - Very nice
Heineken - OK, but better on tap if you really want that Barley/Malt taste
Budweiser - Terrible, flat and no guts (Avoid American beer)
Tooheys New - Always great and from NSW :)
New Zealand Beer - That's just un-Australian
Really I'm looking for an Aussie beer to be my official booze.
Your thoughts?

Coopers all the way!
Oh I'm glad you started this blog! I wanted to start a beer blog re favourite beers etc.. Just to get different oppinions and what not, since I'm always trying out new beers and am still looking for that perfect brew.
My beer tasting journey has led me to Polish beer, possibly the best beer I have ever tried! Germans are also up there, but if you get a chance, have a go at some Polish beer..
The easiest to find, and probably the most popular is a beer called Zywiec (pronounced Shivietz) - it is usually 500ml bottles or cans and is 5.6% - freshest, crispiest taste out there, and is strong + comes standard 500ml..
Zamkowe is also pretty nice, and probably my favourite so far. That's 5.5% and also comes in 500ml. I absolutely fell in love when I tried this beer!!
Can you walk into any bottle shop and purchase this beer? I'm 1/4 Polish background so I might gel with this beer. lol
On other beers - I tasted Peroni (Italy) the other week and it's similar to Heineken.
I sort of stopped drinking Aussie beer due to the constant increase of price, and decrease in alcohol content + quality. It really gets to me how they can increase the price of VB for example, and at the same time reduce the alcohol content so they pay less tax, and get more profits.
And even the taste of local beer is on a downhill, it tastes more watered down than ever, and I always get massive headaches.. Imports is my choice now, not because I'm being 'un-Australian', but because of beurocratic bastards that decide it's in their best interests to reduce the quality to make more money.
Heineken is good, but you have to get the imported one, not the local one... You can tell it's imported by the label, one is like a paper-e kind of label, the imported one is on a see through, plastic like label..
Damn I'm getting thirsty.
1/4 Polish? cool, my missus is Polish, she's the one that got me on them hahah..
You probably won't find it in smaller shops, but something like Dan Murpphy's always has some..
