Summary: Paulo and the Eels have been in talks about a 1-year extension for the past few months with a deal close to being finalised but it's the Perth Bears that have made a late offer that could sway Paulo to Western Australia.
In my opinion, Paulo is obviously slowing down but he would be a big loss for 2027 unless we manage to sign a prop or two for next year.
Spencer Leniu is not guaranteed, I've heard he hasn't even been given permission to speak to other clubs and it's alarming that the only journalist that has said he is coming here is the Mole, his strike rate is terrible. I'd gladly say goodbye to Paulo if we do sign Leniu, hopefully Mark gets it done.

I think the only way he goes to Perth is if they offer 2-3 years.
Games gotten to quick for him and his on to much.
Bears is his manager trying to get 2 years out of us. Club has been firm on a one year extension. Hope they play hard ball
This is exactly it. No way he'smoving his family to the Perth for an extra year. This is Manager hustle for sure
Makes sense this move for Jnr one last payday to secure his retirement you can best believe the club probaly isn't in a position where it'll match years and salaryIf he moves so be it just waiting for when Moses decides it's his time to do the same.
Secure his retirement...he has been on 950K for the last 4 years. If he had a half decent financial adviser then his retirement is already secured.
If he truly loves the Eels then now is his time to pay us back via a 1 year offer then maybe an off field role.
Pay the eels back what are you German hell no players like Junior don't have to pay anything back he's been a loyal soldier and spent many years at the club on far less than the mentioned.
No junior you go get what you deserve and if that's more with Perth good for you.
Are you racist against Germans?
No club should be dumb enough to match any of the Bears offers. Very few established players would move their families to Perth unless it's for a significant amount of money. If Paulo can get two years, let him go.
Agreed Zip - mind you its a v nice spot if you like the weather etc. but for some I imagine it may be too quiet but if the $$ works then take it.
If he goes, I am ok with it as long as MON and co have someone of similar stature to come in; Paulo has been ok but has he set the world on fire for his price tag? A loyal servant
