The Dyldam Paramatta Eels will return to the Northern Territory in 2015, playing their first pre-season trial match in February in Alice Springs.

The Eels will return to #eelsterritory to take on the Wests Tigers on Friday, February 13 at Anzac Oval, Alice Springs.

It sees the four-year partnership between the Blue and Gold and the NT Government continue into its second year, which includes an annual Eels home game played in Darwin.

“We’re really looking forward to heading back to the Territory in 2015, especially after such a successful start to our partnership this year,” Eels CEO Scott Seward said.

“Alice Springs is not just the venue for an important trial game for us, but also a chance for our club to spread the positive messages of rugby league through the local community.”

“We had such a positive response from both die-hard rugby league supporters and new fans to the game in 2014, and I’m looking forward to seeing that grow even further next year.”

The Northern Territory was the home of 1193 of the Eels’ 2014 Memberships, which was the highest interstate number outside of New South Wales.

"The Northern Territory is the Eels' home away from home and Territorians have really thrown their support behind them, including in Central Australia,” NT Minister for Sport, Recreation and Racing, Matt Conlon said.

"We can't wait to welcome the Territory Eels and their members back to Alice Springs in 2015."

“The Alice Springs trial is a great chance for our players to show the hard work they’ve been putting in through the pre-season,” Eels Head Coach Brad Arthur said.

“Everyone welcomed us to the Territory this year and it’ll be good to get back there in a few months’ time.”

Tickets for the game will go on sale later this year, with pricing details to be announced.

  • by chance is there any way that there will be footage or live coverage of any trial matches? i would love to see how the new boys play and hoppa at fullback.

  • I'm hoping that the same guys call the game on web stream as per earlier this year.

They were incredibly funny, without meaning to be.

    • Agree. Can't wait to hear about "the biggest sticks in town!"

    • agree big time. Best commentators ever.

    • Shame that they didn't call the Canberra game

"Pezet had 3 runs, 5 kicks, 2 errors, and 3 try assists. Let's be frank, two of his try assists were fluke kick/regather efforts by others and his try a fluke kick/regather by himself. Ryles played possum about what he has to work on in the press…"
