EELS - 2nd Worst Attack????

I just noticed on the NRL table thats where we stand...........great defensive record though.
I am not being negative but its not a good look, any thoughts??Everybody in the top 8 has scored almost 100 points extra??Hopefully we rack up some points in the coming weeks.

  • Yeah but that was mainly the start of the season now we are starting to score more points and the boys showed some real form against the Storm and if we play like we did against them we can win by 50.
    • For sure i think we have the players to turn it on.......i still think if we peak at the right end of the season anything can happen.
  • yeah, we are yet to score over 30 points in a match and have been kept to nil 2 times, so that explains it a bit.
on the plus side the highest we have had scored against us is 30.
    • I suppose if we keep winning with a couple of high scoring wins that record will change...it won't take long.
  • our attack has been pretty bad this year, Hayne has been doing most of the ball playing that leads to tries. when Morts and KK start doing more work in attack then maybe we will rack up more tries instead of relying on Hayne to do it all.
    • If the forwards are going forward jamesy the backs will have more room to move
  • The thing is no offload = no attack. Someone always needs to get us started with the offloads. It's usually Feleti Mateo, Krisnan Inu or Nathan Hindmarsh who pops the first good offload that gets us rolling.
  • Parramatta's 'ball players' when we are going well are really forwards like Hindmarsh, Mateo and Cayless and backs like Kris Keating, Grothe and Inu who are capable of generating second phase play.

Of course you throw Hayne in there as well in a more traditional ball playing role, but he is pretty much it in terms of traditional ball players.

Our attack is all or nothing - either we will be 'on' in which case we are capable of scoring plenty of points or we won't be in which case we are hardly capable of scoring any points at all.
    • Your right about the all or nothing attack, one of our biggest problems is our inability to get repeat sets and build pressure which usually leads to points. Both our young halves need to work on a short kicking game with some well placed grubbers into the ingoal.
I dont know the stats but i bet we have recieved less dropouts than any other team in the nrl.
