  • What a unique breed us eels fans are. The more crap we get ourselves into the more members we get.
  • The Eels are third in the membership stakes behind Brisbane (~36k) and Souths (~32k). Beats me where all the Souths members are - they don't seem to go to games. Imagine if we start to get more consistent and play more finals football at our new stadium in a few years. 30,000 won't be enough capacity!

    • Agreed but we have had some very successful years in the past yet this is the highest membership we've ever had. Strange.
    • I get the feeling that big games will still go to Homebush. Hope the transport there improves.

    • Gee I hope its not the stink of the NRL that wont let us go.

Seriously I have been wondering about the membership figures for ages, last year they were part of the Eels header page & updated fairly often, missed that.

I agree if the government saw those figures then they need to rethink the stadium capacity. if all the eels members turned up & at a big pulling game the gates would be closed very early. A game against the dogs for instance if they are going well along with the eels, they would bring around 10000 supporters on top of ours.

A realistic seating fro general paying fans should be at least 35000, not 27000.

"Need way more than that, majority of the players signed would be their depth. Even that is rubbish. As Johnny mentioned too, juniors will be hard to come by.
