Eel of a time for unlucky Keating

Via Daily Telegraph

Keating is now in limbo after Anderson said he was still being considered for a first-grade spot but added Robson and Mortimer would get first shot at playing in the halves.

"The coach told some of us younger guys that we're in the mix," Keating said.

"He just said I'd get a chance in trials before the season and I know I have to really impress by just being consistent and improving little things.

"He's let me get back into it in my own time. It's going to be really tough but I just have to keep training hard and doing everything I can to show Daniel I'm ready.

"I haven't really played footy in six months but my ankle and jaw are fine and I'm completely fit, 100 per cent."

  • Terrible name for a story. I'm assuming "EEL" is being used as a pun on "HELL" ?

The more I read about us in the lead up too the season the more it sounds as if KK will have to work to get the number 7 jersey. If that's the case then so be it because i'm sure it won't take him too long to usurp good ol'e Robbo.

KK has the best kicking game at the club, a great running game, astute passing, is a natural leader and has grown up playing junior footy with Inu, Hayne and Morts in NYC. Not only is he the future, he is the present.
  • GO ROBSON
  • I think having the mix of the three halves will certainly keep the opposing teams guessing and will be fantastic for our team.
    • You might want to make that 4, I think Tom Humble is going to make his presence at the club felt pretty quickly as well. I watched that video again the other day, and is it just me or does he have a bit of Brett Kenny about him
      • Totally agree with you 1eyed. He has that Kenny look about him alright
      • Dont you think this is ridiculous as well Phil?
        • Sorry mate, not sure what your referring to?

From what I've just heard from Rylsey's latest presser, Galvin looks to.be all but done at Parramatta.  When asked the club wouldn't be in a hurry to sign Galvin as our halves are set for 25,  Ryles answered.  " a lot of strange things happen in…

"If Galvin decides to go to the Dogs, good for him and them, the Eels will move on.
As previously stated by others in this blog, there are other options who would be cheaper (possibly better), leaving the Eels with more money to buy some other…"
