  • Good signing, well done team.opportunistic , a bit of a gamble but I think it will pay off.

    • Despite the picture you are usually correct.

For me it all depends on the price if we are averaging more than 600k per year then not happy.!

$500k or less then am happy

      • Penrith are paying 33%, we are getting him for about 600k.

      • I watched the Penrith/Ncle game today, RCG came on at the 19minute mark and went of around the 39minute in the second.  From what I saw of him this was his best game this season. he was constantly up with the defence as well as taking the ball up hard, my only issue with his attach is he turns himself sideways into the defence and could earn a shoulder contact penalty.  When he ran straight there were at least 3 but more often than not 4 Ncle players on to him to bring him down.  Was also prominent in defence.

As for the Ncle team, gee they have gone down hill this year, Klemmer has gone backwards since going there and shows money does not get you satisfaction in playing. in saying that he did have some good stats to his name, but seems wasted the way NCLE is at the moment.

      • Its the $500 to $600 K range Willie.

As I said three month's ago it's already done and dusted. The negotiations where over 25% is roughly what Pennies are paying for the LIFE OF THE CONTRACT. Yay our guys for staying strong, sucked in Gould and the Pennies Management. RCG actually mutually agreed that it wasn't to be officially announced untill after both Penrith and Eels Seasons were done.

His last game yesterday showed we are going to benefit in a big way. 168 Meyers from 45 minutes coming of the bench. Not bad.

        • Chuck, as the contract is $800K a 33% discount brings him to the eels paying him $536K a season, its likely the figure may creep up a bit to $550, or could go down to $500, in either case its a good number given he is a vg player and has had a fair bit of rep games as well.

I really liked what I saw of him yesterday, even though it was against NCLE, put him on our bench to replace either Evans or Jnr, will make a big impacting improvement in our middle period of the game, our big area where we lose momentum.  His defence yesterday was vg and he does not just remain in one spot rather he roams a bit and follows the opposition plays to get involved,  My one big concern though is when he runs into the defence and turns side on, he could get pinged for using his shoulder.  He needs to run straight or even when he fully turns and goes backwards into the defence he has strong leg push and generally makes more metres.

          • You can't get pinged for using your shoulder when running the ball. There is literally no rule against it. The only rule in that vein relates to using your elbow.

            • Fair Nuff Super, wonder why players from a couple of certain clubs keep going though based on the elbow, or do they only use it for thinking on the field?

          • Just leave the way he plays to the experts thanks Collin. And im not talking ones from the arm chair

            • Nick, perhaps we leave all things to you then!  You must be an pro at your trade as you seem to try to show skills unheard of.
