Edwards, Paulo, Pritchard

I was very impressed with these three guys tonight and their improvement has been exceptional.

Scott and Ma'u get the majority of the raps when it comes to our backrow but Edwards was better then both of these guys tonight and is a very strong all round player.  Edwards' defence is as good as Scott and his attack, his acceleration and footwork at the line is better then Ma'u (I'm very impressed).  Edwards reminds me of a young Watmough in attack (great footwork).

Paulo looks very, very fit and is starting to look like Fui Fui in his prime and I though he looked more threatening then Aaron Woods in both attack and defence.

Pritchard has added another dimension to our bench and is quite comfortable as a running lock and he looks even faster then Jennings over 10-15 metres.  I just hope we have enough room in our salary cap to play him in the top grade all year due to being second tier.

  • Pritchard can play as many games as we want him to play this year without it affecting our second tier salary cap any more than he already has. As soon as a second tier player makes one appearance his entire salary is committed to the cap for the year, whether he plays one game or 20.

The exception is where the second tier cap is full and the club needs to ask for dispensation to bring in a new player. Then it is a week to week proposition. But Pritchard played in round one, and there's no way the second tier cap would have been full by then. Pritchard can play whenever we need him to for the rest of the year. So can Luke Kelly.

  • I thought scott was one of our best again. Even after being someone who was not initially in favour of the signing.
    • Scott's defence is excellent week in week out.

  • There is no rush bringing Peats back.  I'd give him an extra couple of weeks rehab and if we win the next two games bring him back through NSW Cup.

    • If he plays like that each week he will play rep footy this year.  He will be in the starting team next week as Ma'u will most likely be suspended.  He brings terrific line speed in attack.

    • *#%/ surely thats illegal showing that jamesy
  • You have to keep Pritchard as he brings excellent line speed in attack and he brings that x-factor off the bench.  As the season drags on I expect Degois to show fatigue and Peats will return, if he doesn't return straight away.  I suspect Peats is a coach favourite.
