I’m sorry but the club needs to stand up to this (most probably at an administrative level), we can procrastinate for ever about the injustice, but someone needs to be accountable within the NRL structure.
The incidents that took place in this particular game were of a nature that the NRL needs to be concerned. The blatant use (and exploitation) of the six again rule, the overuling by the bunker when the referee had made his decision on the Gutherson try and also the bunker being in involved in the Cartright challenge by them upholding the challenge and then making a ruling that was only in the provence of the match referee.
There is also a view that implies that the linesman in the last St George try had called it forward and was overuled by the referee. Throw in the overall competence of all these processes and Mr Vlanday’s who I admire greatly has a real problem with the games credibility.

We can’t sweep this under the carpet because we believe Dyllan had a legitimate appeal and we are overcome in doing so because of mistrust of the MRC.

Our whole justice system in the courts is failing because police do not want their opinions questioned, so they send them to the courts…..we are having the same PC style issues in our game and people are walking away from it because of this.

  • Would have been a waste of an appeal. Technically it was a crusher.

    • Mutts, when you say technically, I'm sure you are right....but my point is that such a tecnicality should not come into it, if a judgement can be made. Its a bit like the " left shoulder" thing with Paulo and Guth losing the try. IF you forget the technicality for a moments judgement then it is not an issue...technically correct just the same.

This is the sort of shit that MRC should be looking at and the bunker needs some advice in the area of commonsense and the limit of there involvement..... if it is blatant then so be it....none of the cases we are talking about were blatant but just technical..... its a mentality we need to get rid of in society as much as " a game".

        • Well, does that mean you are agreeing Brissy, we should be trying to make an example of it through the right channel's.

After all someone has to do it.....its like challenging the idiots on here....someone has to do it! you should know that feeling well! Lol

  • Footy's footy bra

  • Totally agree Poppa. The Brown incident was pretty well overblown. The Dragon players were offside all game. The contempt for the referee was there for all to see and someone should have been sent off for the game for continually disobeying directions. Our club should have sent off a complaint about all the issues you have mentioned and not just the Brown issue and made the complaint public. This game was a repeat of the games in Canberra and Penrith last yr where the home teams were allowed to stand offside for the whole game with impunity. Expect the same against the Raiders on Saturday. We must take a stand!

  • I honestly believe the Eels lost to the Dragons because of their attitude in that game, HOWEVER, there were a number of calls that were wrong and could of changed the momentum of the game. It would be a lot harder for the players to get their head space right during a game when those calls go against them. I keep hearing ( We want the right calls made ) however I also notice the bunker getting involed when they want to and like the Dragons knock on being shown before the scrum was packed they say nothing. I wonder what would of happened if they actually did get all the calls right.

  • Here is something else with some currency.

  • Does this guy even watch the footy???

    Talk about no idea.

    Cheers,

    Scott
