He's been sorely missed. We sweated it out vs the Warriors and were belted by Manly and Souths alike. Competely exposed as a defensive unit making us look like a bottom 4 side the last 2 weeks. Blasted away and never had a hope once the opposition sniffed blood down our right edge.

I had previously done some research when Dylan was away for a while back in 2019 and the picture wasn't pretty.

15 games played. Team record of 10-5. Average score 24- 17,53

12 games missed. Team record 5-7. Average score: 21,25- 22,16

The kid is a defensive beast and our fortunes greatly depend on his tackling and defensive reads.

No Dylan, no party.

I just hope some people have seen sense how important he is despite no setting the world on fire offensively.

  • Very happy to have Dylan back next week.

  • 2021 stats

    With Dylan 7-1 and average score 28,12 - 14,25

without Dylan 2-2 and average score 20-28

    No Dylan,  No party.

  • Couldn't agree more

I was actually going to write a blog about myself

  • Parra fan, your stats are impresive. I had thought DB was not doing enough in attack but is his D is that good then that explains alot. I will watch his D closer next week.

  • I'm glad someone said it.

All the hate Dylan was getting a few weeks ago when we were actually winning games was ridiculous.

People jumping on him for only having 1 try assist when he is often the first or second receiver in backline sweeps that lead to many tries just show their ignorance towards the game of rugby league.

All good judges know Dylan is a fantastic defender (he's actually he best defensive half in the entire competition...better than Wighton, Cleary et al)

And his attack is potent and valuable. Just ask Joey Johns how good he is. He gushes about Dylan. Dylan is incredibly advanced for his age. People go on and on about how Luai is so much better not realising Luai is about 3 or 4 years older than Dylan, and at Dylan's age Luai was a reserve grader who was somewhat inconsistent and a little garbage at times. He developed into a better player with time and experience.

  • Dylan will come straight back in. Though he hasn't been in great attacking form & is a bit of an enigma (space head at times) there's no doubt he does a lot of work especially defensively and in cover. We take The Browns for granted at times.

    Stats up to R9.

  • If we are in a position whereby our whole structure falls apart on the availability of one player, we are in worst shape than I thought.

    • I was saying the exact same thing to a mate this morning. The storm and roosters are missing a whole host of players and manage to get it done. We are missing a prop and five eighth and go to water, not good enough.

      • We aren't in great contender shape; Storm, Panthers & Roosters have a tougher culture. It doesn't take much to go against us - including an opposition up for the fight and switched on - for us to implode and fall over in a heap.

    • I don't necessarily agree with that. Players in the 1 6 or 7 or any player that plays 80 mins are very important to structure. You take a player like Latrell out of South's and see what happened there. Likewise the roosters got carved up with young Walker at half. It's a fickle game in many ways.
