DUMMY HALF DILEMMA SOLVED

JEFF ROBSON.....

Even tho he's 35 years old this season,he still has the goods! Robbo has a great passing game, decent kicking game, can play-make if required & above all he's a brilliant defender which is so crucial in the no9 jersey... plus he's used to playing an 80 minute match with rumours circulating that BA is wanting to utilise 4 big forwards off the bench in 2017 as a power play similar to what the Raiders are currently doing...

Forget Kaysa Pritchard,Cameron King,  Jamal Fogarty for the role, they don't have the skills needed, only Isaac DeGois comes close but he isn't an 80 minute player week in/week out...

Jeff Robson is the man for dummy half...!

  • He could be affective as a number 14 playing 25 minutes at hooker but that will come down to whether he has a top 25 contract.  If he is second tier he will not be eligible to play many games in first grade.  We know that IDG is top 25 and from the media speculation around it sounds like King got the second top 25 spot with both Kaysa and Robson having second tier contracts.  He could play 80 minutes at Hooker but he would struggle in the back half of each half due to his age.

  • Raiders play a 2nd dummy half off the bench last time I checked mate
    • As do most sides, having a back up Hooker has always been a good idea.
    • Did you read the story poppa?? Jezza said the raiders play 4 big forwards off the bench but I think he is mistaken
  • Degois, Pritchard and king are miles a head of Robson getting the dummy half gig.
  • Robson whilst an honest toiler is well past it although i agree he will probably see some 1st grade this year

    • Relative to Utility value he offers more than just dummy half. Really has the others covered in this respect. Kaysa's cameos in the 2nd Row, whilst he is enthusiastic in his approach - don't cut the mustard.

Although... Will Smith has utility but does he have the quality? Jury's out.
  • I can see where you're coming from mate, but to be honest I think we have a few blokes that could do a better job there than what Robson could at this point. Maybe if a few fall down in front of him, then yeah, but probably not man.
  • Jeff Wallace?
I agree, he could well be a great hooker but it would only be for a year or two tops. The bloke is quick, has a great short kicking game and can defend. All the attributes to be a decent rake.
    Will it happen though?
    Nup.
