Dragons baulk at SFS push....

I mean who can blame them.... If we were in their position we wouldn't move it. So get geared up for round 2 at Kogarah because i think the Knights have Penriths measure.Stats show Dragons have 37 per cent winning record at Sydney Football StadiumTHEY'RE the damning statistics that will leave even the most ardent St George Illawarra fan happy to stay locked out of Kogarah. The Daily Telegraph can reveal Dragons officials are baulking at a push by NRL boss David Gallop to move their home final to either ANZ Stadium or the Sydney Football Stadium because of an appalling 37 per cent finals success rate at the venues. While the hyped shift would allow an extra 28,000 fans to see the playoff live - and guarantee the club $250,000 in financial incentives - it would also see the Red V giving up a stunning 60 per cent success rate in all matches at Kogarah Oval. The joint-venture team is yet to play a finals match at their suburban fortress. Speaking before the Parramatta blockbuster last night, CEO Peter Doust insisted his board would wait until tomorrow night - when the final eight will be finalised - before making any decisions on a venue for their opening finals match.Start of sidebar. Skip to end of sidebar.End of sidebar. Return to start of sidebar.Doust also said there was a groundswell of support among Dragons faithful to keep the game at Kogarah, while describing as "ironic" the push for his club to move to a bigger venue."Last year when we finished seventh and Manly finished second, we played them at Brookvale Oval and there were a heap of Dragons fans who missed out," Doust said."But no one said anything then ... and what about when Parramatta put up the full-house sign against Penrith last week and supporters were turned away? That wasn't deemed an entrepreneurial failure, either."At the end of the day, every club is working for a top-four spot because one of the platforms it provides is a home semi-final. That's pretty clear. And it's been something we've been working towards for a long time."The Daily Telegraph yesterday revealed how Gallop had phoned Doust offering financial incentives to quit Kogarah and move the game to the SFS. ANZ Stadium also joined the bidding war early yesterday after it was revealed the Moore Park venue would be holding an A-League match between Sydney FC and North Queensland Fury next Saturday night. But the Dragons' poor record at either venue may cancel out the push entirely. Stats guru David Middleton said the Dragons have won just one of three finals games at ANZ. They're slightly better at the SFS, with two wins from five games. At Kogarah, they've won 21 of 35.comparison, the Dragons have won 21 of 35 games at Kogarah.

  • Just shows Dragons don't have faith in their team. If they believed they can win no matter what they would not care where they played.... If we have to play them again we need to smarted up in defense, attitude and tactics. We can beat any side we have proven that already... Hope we at least have a full strength side....
  • its unfare to so many fans that wanna go thou and wont get there cause its sold out

"EA, as usual i ask, how did Funa-Iuta and Talagi go starting? I see Funa-Iuta played most if not all the game.
Also, is Shane-Tapau worth a consideration in future or just making numbers at the moment?"
