Double headers don’t work in Sydney

it’s been over 15 years since a double header in Sydney attracted a crowd bigger than playing them separately. Should’ve been 30k minimum even with bad weather. #nrleelssharks 17.5k last yr plus #nrlsouthsmanly 12.5k alone #doubleheadersdontworkinsydney

  • Crowds in Sydney suck. Full stop. Doesn’t matter which business it is.

25k for a double header is not embarrassing. It’s devastating. What a monumental screw up this was.

  • It’s the stadium boys
  • I was there. Brought both daughters down from Newcastle and the quicker they knock that piece of poo stadium down the better. There’s not one good seat in the house. No atmosphere. The architect was clearly a propeller head and should be publicly whipped
  • Fact 3 of 4 sides were coming off 2 losses especially parra coming off huge 50 nil loss.  Add in the crappy weather and rain during arvo and was never going be good crowd.

Parra tigers has drawn huge crowds last few Easter Monday games however with eels going bad watch how much the crowd will suffer.

If parra or South's were winners by 50 points last week and it was sunny day, would have been huge crowd.

People will put up with crap Stadium for winning team.  Losing team has make game experience worth the travel time and other downfalls such as cost, weather and time slot

  • Would have been better if it were the 4 teams that used anz as a home ground

    Tigers, rabbitohs, bulldogs and eels

As a ticketed member we were unsure how the seating worked and asked parra membership.

They let us know it was general admission to an allocated area. Thats fine but we were unsure if we could make down for 1st game (located 1.5 hrs north) then we worried about getting decent seat.

We shouldnt worried poor crowd would have got a seat no worries, as the 7 manly supporters that did go left at half time game 1.

Friends went left 3pm home just after 11pm big day when you have the kids with you.

Love to see some more matches at gosford going forward last few games there were sellout

  • What u talkin about.... 17.5k + 12.5k is exactly 30k!!!!! now that's enough Maths debating!!

    • Exactly and there was only 25k at the double header on Sunday. the point of the double header is to attract more attendees it attracted less
  • It's easy if you want crowds kick off at 3pm, if you want TV ratings kick off at 730pm.

  • Double Headers should stay in QLD where they were born!

  • Geez I gotta explain all my jokes today..... Double Header, as in 2 headed people!!!!!
