Don't hit the Panic Button Yet

I'm not here to defend the lackluster way in which we played today. What I'm going to say is that the signs are there that we're going to turn it around. I hope it's sooner rather than later. If we lose the next 2 games then I'd say we're in trouble. We've shown glimpses of what we can really do over the past 2 games. It's a case of inconsistency for Parramatta. Brilliant 1 minute, terrible the next. At times against Newcastle they were bustling forward really well and making easy metres, only for it to be ended with a poor kick. Hayne is still yet to be fully fit but a 90% Hayne is better than no Hayne. Sandow had a mixed game with some good and poor kicks. Keating played quite well for the majority of the game with good runs from dummy half as well as good service. The forwards as always were quite impressive with Fui making good impact on the edges and Mannah, Poore and Allgood pinching through the middle. The problem this week was te kicking. When in the attacking zone the bombs were either too short or too deep with a handful of good grubbers. There was little structure in the attacking zone which needs to be urgently addressed. If Kearney doesn't fix this he's got to go but I'd give him a couple more games without improvement before that happens. It's still early in the season but we've got to turn it around next week if we're going to threaten this season.

  • Yes the panick button was broken years ago every year even when we are going good there is always panic box we know we will fall short every time we are no longer a winning club
  • Totally disagree. We were shit today and if that is all we can come up with against another team that is shit then we are in  serious trouble. Push the panic button.

    • x2

seriously, this team is a joke and has been for ages!!!!

stop making excuses - ffs get into the market place and just buy some quality for a change!!!!

newcastle were crap and we don't even look like scoring

  • When I heard the score in the 20's...& that our SG ball team will not make the play offs...execution of the RED button is not far off....

  • I think this team will "click" in a couple of weeks. BUT we need Hayne.
    • if sk went to hit the panic button, hed miss for sure,, he couldnt coach anybody to hit any button...

  • Normo, that's the problem. With Hayne's injured knee, I don't think we can rely on him.

Gould mentioned that Hayne really needs an operation, and based on what I saw today, he's spot on. Hayne copped a fairly mild-looking knock early in the game chasing a grubber and then he went straight to the wing. The rest of the game, he was struggling. Whereas he'd normally try to beat a defender, he generally succumbbed to the tackle to protect his knee. That makes all the difference in Hayne's game.

Hayne's knee is not responding as well as they had hoped to therapy, and it is just too weak. It's a matter of time before he gets injured again and it needs the operation. Unless, Parra can learn to play and win half their games without Hayne, it is time to push the panic button.

    • Any idea how long Hayne would be out for if he had the operation 2mrw?

    • Well we are farked then!
  • depends on the injury meaning ive had two knee surgerys done first 1 took 3 mths second one took 6 weeks and yet is still stuffed depends on his treatment afterwards
