Does your view on BA's sacking change?

Most, if not everyone here agrees that Penrith have a better roster than us. Most of us also believe that BA needs to at least take us to a preliminary final (give our opposition a good fight) to avoid being sacked this year. However, this view was mainly created because we thought that Panthers would beat Souths and we would then have to beat a Souths side without Latrell this week. Therefore, would you guys still want BA sacked if we lose to Penrith this week, even if we give them a good fight?

  • Are you asking 1EE members if they're going to admit they were wrong?  You must be new here ( I know you're not actually new here EA ;) ) .

I think some people are hoping we get smashed 100-0 just so they can validate their stance. We could win the GF with Jake Authur scoring a hat trick and Mrs BA plotting some tactical work of art on her doilie and handing it to Brad in the dying minutes for the winning try and people would still call for the end of The Arthur's before they'd admit the bloke can coach ok.

    • My views are capable of changing, as I was always a BA supporter.

I honestly believe that he is at the extreme limit of his functionality given the decisions he made this year, despite the results we are now having.

Now in saying this replacing him with someone that may not have his existing functionality is the Elephant in the room. Let's not do it unless there is a genuine succession plan.

His judgement in relation to his own son and the way he has used different players is my main "beef" along with his seeming inflexible irrationaity to seek advice and use different tactics. His current success is I believe a situation that the players have adopted whereas if they had not risen up and lifted, then their own careers would be effected.

How many want to stay will be an interesting sidelight to the situation. I also believe that the GM Football and the CEO will have enough feel for the room in making these judgements. They will be aware what the players are thinking.

My mind and my views remain open.

      • I do not think that Jim and Mark are strong enough in their leadership to move BA on, not that I think it will happen. He will see his contract out next year. The fact that Kidwell and Murphy were extended only for next year gives me hope that we will have new coaching staff in 2023

  • Not yet, he's had two wins in finals football during his career, he beat a hapless Broncos and a very disappointing Newcastle team yesterday.

We want more than making finals footy, we want to win premierships...... All Arthur has won us in eight years is a wooden spoon.

    Scott

    • Scott, singlehandedly you could make me change my mind.

My statement is about logic, alternatives and evolving situations.

All you want to do is talk about spoons and winning premierships.

Realisically he was in charge for the last spoon but the mitigation was overwhelming. With respect to winning premierships he has not had a competition winning roster since he came here. He has done pretty well with what he has had. If he manages to win a comp with the roster he has,it would make his coaching performance an outstanding one, that would make him highly sort after by every club......who's to say with such a result behind him he could go to new levels.

Seeing fools like you make the summmaries and decisions you do, is greater argument to my open mind to retain him.

      • Too much logic and common sense in that Poppa. I'll have to go away and think about that before I change my mind again.

        • Rowdy Mate think very carefully about Poppa's logic..His advice is based on  Irish logic.

          Mick, from  Dublin  ,appeared on
'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire'
and towards the end of the program
          had already won 500,000 euros.

"You've done very well so far,"
          said Chris Tarrant,
          the show's presenter,
          "but for a million euros
          you've only got one life-line left –
          phone a friend.
Everything is riding on this question.....
          will you go for it?"

"Sure," said Mick. "I'll have a go!"

"Which of the following birds does NOT build its own nest?

          a) Sparrow

          b) Thrush,

          c) Magpie,

          d) Cuckoo?"

          "I haven't got a clue." said Mick,

''so I'll use last lifeline and phone my friend Paddy back home in  Dublin  ."

Mick called up his mate, and told him the circumstances

and repeated the question to him.

"Bloody hell, Mick!" cried Paddy. "Dat's simple......
          It's a cuckoo."
          "Are you sure?"

          "I'm very sure."

Mick hung up the phone and told Chris,
"I'll go wit Cuckoo as my answer."

"Is that your final answer?" asked Chris.

          "Dat it is, Sir."

There was a long - long pause, and then the presenter screamed,

          "Cuckoo is the correct answer!

Mick, you've won 1 million euros!"

          The next night,
Mick invited Paddy to their local pub to buy him a drink.

          "Tell me, Paddy?
How in Heaven's name did you know it was

da Cuckoo that doesn't build its own nest?"

"Because he lives in a bloody clock!"

    • I though Newcastle played very well yesterday, had a real go.

    • What was disappointing about Newcastle? Statistically speaking they played out of their skin and way above their season average in completions, metres gained and defence.

    • The whiny bitch is strong in you, Dreggs. You are a sack of spare parts, and every one of 'em whines.

We win a Final and this comment is what you've got! You're a sour bore.

Head lice are more fun than you

No wonder Greggs gloryhole is so lousy
