Me for one did not like what paul kent said about parramatta and said they are a nothing team and he said we were a one man team the whole 2009. Paul Kent is being really harsh on Eels and their performances for the last 20 years. He seriously he has an issue with the Eels suggestions??

  • It would seem that he does have a vendetta of sorts against the club yes.
Whether that stems from his one first-grade game with the club, or whether it has been in more recent times, we probably may never know, but he does seem to be taking it a bit too far.

In 2011, the Eels won't have the favourites tag on them, so they can do a lot better now that they won't have the added pressure on them.
  • Even the most optimistic Eels fan would have to admit that our board couldnt run a chook raffle at the moment and if this doesnt improve id hate to think where the club might be in two or three years time.Paul Kent is a fool but lets admit that this board makes Fitzy and his band of merry men look like miracle workers.
  • 'dropped on the head' implies that it was only once. I would say something like dropped down a flight of stairs, once a week, for ten years.
    • Twice a week plus his head flushed in a toilet atleast once a day. Joe taha copped the same treatment by the look of things.
      • hahhha i totally agree.
  • Paul Kent's job, especially on the Matty Johns show, is to say things that incite comment and debate. Obviously he is doing his job.

It is quite easy for him to make the comment that we are a club in decline because we came 2nd last year and 12th this year. As I said elsewhere about the whole Anderson thing, on field performance effects what is written and said about a club no matter how well a club might be going financially or in other areas - it's just human nature to judge a thing on its most obvious criteria.
  • he dosnt have a vendetta against us you can tell this by watching him on the back page on fox sports hes comments are usually what youd expect and you can tell hes last few comments about us being a nothing team is just to fire people up. because he contradicted what he said about the club 2 mins before. and what hes said over the last 3 weeks
  • no offence joe you have the right to say what you want to say but its kinda sad that your social life is that downhill that you have to troll a forum to get a kick
  • yeh SOME scrutiny.
But he said the club was once a great club but now it's in decline and doesn have much of a future left.
That is really far. but at the same time we need to win a preimership if we to keep branding about how grt this club is.
  • The success from the 80's put a lot of pressure on the Eels after the glory days and nothing has changed. No doubt Parra are a club whose glory days are mentioned the most than any other club. Since than Parra have made 2 grand finals, but lost both games similar to falling at the last hurdle in the 70's. No premiership since 1986, but not a bad track record for being competitive.

"Randy,  An interesting one.
I suppose coaches trust certain players or believe they're the best fit for the team, even if club form or a high minute count aren't there.
I'd choose you for x-factor even if you only had 5 minutes of form."

Perhaps a rule that said 10 nrl games to be eligible for Aust would help everyone"

Like Ricky Stuart, Ryles seems happy to show the door to a player not buying in.
