Do you want chat on the main page?

You might have noticed that the chat module sat on the home page all weekend as a bit of a trial. Previously, I've tended to bring it on and off the front page around game-time but a few of you have asked if it could remain on the home page as it doesn't get a lot of visibility when its not. There did seem to be a lot more use of chat over the weekend as a result. But then it does take up a bit of screen real estate? So let us know your thoughts....

  • Oh God no!

If you leave it on the main page, we'll be confronted with even more ROTFLMAO's, LOL's, LMAAOOOOO's and other such illiterate nonsense than we are already!
  • I think it is better just for game day. I agree with b-man about the nonsense some people write, so the less we see, the better.
  • Just game day for me.
  • I'm thinking at the moment, that I move it to the bottom of the page during the week. I think there's going to very much be a generational divide on this issue!
  • Game day mate.
  • Game day for mr too
  • on weekends only
  • Even I say Game day. I think it's set now Phil!
  • Nice :-)
  • No, that's a bullshit argument!

There's currently only two major sites for fellow Eels fans to discuss our beloved team and this is one of them. I don't believe it fair to dilute the contributions of those who have legitimate discussion points with some of the garbage from members who couldn't be bothered to engage their brains.

I've no problems with Phil utilizing the facility of this platform to provide for those who want to 'spitball', but apparently, the platform has the capacity to allow considered discussion alongside social chat and there's no reason not to take advantage of such facility.

Whilst I tend to be fairly harsh on those whom I think provide nothing, I accept that Eels fans come in all ages and sizes and think that Phil's latest evolution of the site is inspired. I shouldn't demand the site prescribe entirely to my preference, and nor should you!

"Yep Coryn would be at the back protecting BA with his monocular criticising the front lines efforts. Definitely not criticising his hero."

"Yep as long as the leader (coach) is protected at all costs, not all is lost.
There's still time to rebuild and grow another army of collision chasers and front loaders..."
