I think another player of this man's rugby league calibre would be a gigantic boost to the Eels premiership chances. Matt Burton would have been a great asset in my opinion.

Burton is a good footballer but not a great either
Came extremely close with Hayne in the side. In fact I would go so far as to say that the 2009 Eels team was far superior than the Eels 2022 team. The Eels should have been handed the premiership after it was discovered that the Storm cheated and was stripped of the title

No are you? I'm saying that Matt Burton would have been an extremely handy pick up by the Eels recruitment and would definitely have an X factor to the team
I agree Monts.I like Burton a lot. Gould has a good eye for players who can fit into a team with a winning style of football. I have said it before but the combo Burton has with Ado Carr is exceptional --Just watch how tactical thinking becomes a big feature in how the Dogs play this year and Burton will be a key player. Definitely a top 8 side this year. Pity we didn,t get Goulds smarts.
