I am often labelled on this forum as overly defending our players, but from some of the replies I have been reading this morning, it seems as though many on this forum have pre-determined ideas about our players and then following a loss, will come and destroy them.
1. The Keatings - I have to say that I thought the Keating brothers were fantastic last night. While Kris did not set the world on fire, I thought his defence was amazing. Behind a VERY beaten back, he has done better than Morts has done the last 2 week! This is not a suggestion that Morts should be dropped, but more that Kris should be left alone. Further, Matty Keating did especially well this week I thought - his usual defensive effort coupled with some really solid service from dummy half. I was really pleased.
2. Poor Brendan Oake - I thought he was one of our better players! He made a try saving tackle, defended beautifully and made decent metres. He has only just been called up to First Grade and I think will improve with time. Horo too - I don't see what he did wrong?!
3. Cayless - criticism of him is based on silly errors. In terms of being a metre eater, he is constantly up there.
Other players had a shocker last night - Benny, Guru and even our Hindy. There has been very little said about the performance of these boys.
Our performance was atrocious last night. Our attitude was poor, we couldn't match the intensity or speed of the Tigers, we made too many errors and simply did not look interested.
Despite this, 2 of the tries scored by the Tigers were absolutely freakish! While we played poorly, I don't think the scoreline was as bad as it could have been. We still have SO much improvement in us and I think it's silly to write off the team so early in the piece.
As frustrating as it is, we as fans just need to be patient and wait for it all to click. Hopefully this will happen sooner than later!
P.S. I truly believe that dropping people and chopping and changing our side is not going to be beneficial (apart from determining who our halves are going to be). Parramatta supporters have a habit of looking for a saviour, and at this point in time it looks like it is Pele. I believe in the coaching staff and that he will get his opportunity when its time.
Ok. Done now. :-)

Hindy is one player no one wants to bag but the signs are more and more that he is our inspirational defender but that he has zero in attack and this puts more and more pressure on the remaining forwards to get over the ad line
stop defending them and start telling them to pull their fingers out
Next time I attend player training, I'll be sure to get the boys in a little huddle and tell them to 'pull their fingers out'.
I am sure that will do them the world of good!
But this is parra, the masters of screwing up when they have every reason to win, and especially last night, so ,
the boys deserve everything they are getting on here. fans only get like this when they care enough about a team and with a performance like that. i was fuming.
i have to agree with brian, its been long enough, and all the boys should b filthy with themselves. its good u defend them from biased opinions on here but, sometimes a shit performance should be deemed so and excuses and silver linings shouldnt matter, they may be valid, and good u see them, but still, wnt help us lift for the next game.because even though these players werent as bad as ppl have been winging about on the site , they werent anything special. they certainly didnt help lift the team with anything they did, they just werent as bad as ppl are saying.
I just don't see why we have had 10 threads about dropping Oakey and Matty Keating when they were two of the better players last night.
The boys will be down on confidence. They need our support and to know that we will stand by them until they get things right.
2 - Barring a few players (robson), these are the players u have to work with so get used to it.
3 - we haven't won since 1986 - but hayne hasn't won since 06, mannah since 08, morts since 09, kk since 08, etc. This isn't their problem
4. Mk was good finally and I put this to the coach. He came out trying to run from dummy half and be creative and unusually, kicked from dummy half - I put it to the coach coz often, he didn't run at the right times and sometimes went the wrong way but obv, he has been told to just do it and in time will improve.
4 - kk was a standout (appart from the only other 3 - tmannah, hayne and reddy). He tried hard, looks a bit dNgerous and organizes play.
5 - robson must go - you can't win the comp with a guy that wouldn't make our wenty team. All he can do is defend but we have 2nd risers for that. He does not watch te game, does not plan ahead and has poor skill. Morts to replace him. (ando took him off for half of our comeback last week)
6 - tahu saw more ball in union
7 - chill out a bit and enjoy the spectacle that is rugby league. The game is moving forward and I for one am delighted. Not that I don't criticises the eels coz I do at the game but its not time for a crisis meeting just yet (at least wait until round 7!)
The players are not 5 year old children, "Tinkerbell", you don't need to protect. They can take (constructive) criticism.
The players are grown ups and do not need me to defend them but they do need to know that the fans are behind them, until they get things right.
